Subject: Double-Headed Coin, Jesse Lee, Laurel Mountain Comics, Pennsylvania Hey, this is Jesse Lee with a report on the most recent Laurel Mountain Comics tournament for Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. I call my deck Double-Headed Coin as it heavily relies on the tossing on the coin, you may see this as an "all luck noob deck" but if this coin tosses are done at the right time, it is quite effective. My deck is not complete as I plan to take out the 2 sangas and replace them with Barrel Dragons, and also put in 2 time wizards. Location: Laurel Mountain Comics Participants: 8 Entry Fee: $6 1st Prize: 1 1st Edition Pharoah's Servant booster pack 2nd Prize: 1 Magic Ruler booster pack 3rd Prize: 1 Japanes Magic Ruler booster pack All participants receive one tournament pack. My deck: 40 cards total Monsters: 20 Barrel Dragon (great effect) Sanga of the Thunder x2 (great effect) La Jinn x3 (1800 attk lvl 4) Harpie's Brother (1800 attk lvl 4) 7 colored Fish (1800 attk lvl 4) Man Eater Bug x3 (duh?) Magician Of Faith x2 (What, I can only have 1 Raigeki, etc?) Jirai Gumo x3 (Goes good with my theme, great stall/end game card) Witch of the Black Forest (Brings out my Spear Cretin or MeB) Spear Cretin (Acts as another Monster Reborn with the combo of Soul Release) Mask of Darkness (What, I can only have 1 Mirror Force, etc?) Giant Soldier of Stone (lol, opponents never understand this. It's a card I've had forever, mainly because it's so versatile. It has a half decent attack and the 2000 defense really throws opponents off when they know my whole deck is attack/effect) Magic: 13 Pot of Greed (speeds up my deck, great card advantage) Soul Exchange x2 (Quickly and more easily bring out my Sangas / Barrel Dragon) Rush Recklessly (A nice surprise when you think your dead) Heavy Storm (take out those annoying gravity binds and messangers of peace) Change of Heart (Don't you hate it when you get your effects stolen?) Soul Release (Great combo with Spear Cretin, ruins your opponents monster Reborn, MoF, and MoD.) Monster Reborn (Bring back my barrel Dragon) Raigeki (Uh, why not?) Fissure x2 (Good bye!) De-Spell (take out Grave keeper's Servant, Messanger of Peace, etc.) Dark Hole (Just in case!) Traps: 7 Magic Jammer x2 (Raigeki? I think not) Spellbinding Circle (I'd rather you not attack me) Mirror Force (Your attacking? good bye monsters) Seven Tools of the Bandit (Mirror Force? I think not) Magic Drain (This card acts as either a Magic Jammer or just make your opponent throw out his raigeki, monster reborn, etc.) Ceasefire (My favorite card from Pharoah's Servant. Stop the effects of all effect monsters, plus direct damage? What more do you want.) First Duel: Jesse vs. Seth Round 1: Seth is new to the game, but has more cards than any kid could ask for. He plays a Barrel Dragon deck and has all staples. This went almost all game with us flipping coins. I thought he had me in the beginning as he had me down to under 3000 life points. I pulled out in the end when I managed to get Barrel Dragon and Sanga on the field. Me 1-0 Round 2: This round was all me, I got Barrel Dragon out on the 2nd hand and the coins were going my way. I got like 3 turns in a row where I had an open field to attack on thanks to the help of my Mirror Force and Raigeki. Me 2-0 --------------------- Break, We waited as Kyle and Zack finished up their duels. I had bought a Pharoah's Servant box at the beginning of the Tournament and decided to add in my Ceasefire. --------------------- Jesse vs. Kyle Round 1: Kyle plays a Maha Vailo deck and is my good friend. We often duel so i knew just what i was up against. After a few hands I had got him down to 4000 life points. He fissured and brought out his Maha Vailo equipped with Axe of Despair and Malevolent Nuzzler. I played Raigeki, but was surprised to see that he would counter it with Solemn Judgement while at such low life points. He attacked and did a little over 4000 life points. I drew a Soul Release and knew it was over. Me 2-1 Round 2: This one was all me. I drew Magic Jammer, Raigeki, Mirror Force, and Barrel Dragon early on. I managed to counter everything he threw at me and shut him out. 8000-0 Me 3-1 Round 3: My first hand contained no lvl 4 monsters, so to the rules of the shop I re-shuffled. This once again set me up with a hand which put the odds much in my favor. Magician of Faith, Sanga, Soul Exchange, Magic Jammer, and Man Eater Bug. After a Few turns no damage was done, but I drew another Magician of Faith and Raigeki. I brought out Sanga and cleared the field for 3 consecutive turns nailing with 2600 each time. Kyle played a face down monster and I hit him with Ceasefire, winning the match. His card was a cyber jar, I won the duel. Me 4-1 Finals: Jesse vs. Nathan Round 1: Nathan runs a Wind Monster deck, with Rising Air Current, Harpies, and Kazejin.. you'd be surprised and how good he does. This round was just not his best to say the least. He had nothing going for him all match, I ending up shutting him out 8000-0. Me 5-1 Round2: Sigh, you were probably hoping for a grand finale. Sadly this was a really pathetic game. I drew EVERYTHING to counter anything he could do, 7 tools, magic jammers, spell binding, raigeki. I ended up taking a total of almost 4000 life points with just my two Man Eater Bugs. Once again a 8000-0 shut out. Me 6-1 Yay! My first tournament win! Props: To Kyle for getting 2 more Maha Vailo To me for winning! To Kyle's mom for driving me To me for getting my Ceasefire, w00t! To Nathan for finally getting a 7 tools To Zack for getting a Goddess with the Third eye in his tourney pack To me for getting 2 Limiter Removals To Pojo.com if they post this To Mike at Laurel Mountain Comics for hosting this and ordering us all the cards and accessories a duelist could want! Slops: Zack losing first round Getting garbage in my Pharoah's Servant prize pack and tourney pack Not being able to find any more Barrel Dragons or Time Wizards.
