Final Assault Deck Matt Fillman Richard's Card Shop Santa Paula, CA December 15th, 2002 # of Duelists: 16 I call my Deck the Final Assault Deck since I not only completed my Deck (hence the word "Final") but "Assault" sounds better than just "Beatdown". That being said, let me start by saying.... I finally got Call of the Haunted!!!!! Actually, there's a very funny story behind that, but that'll have to wait 'til after the Tournament report. Not only did I trade Buster Blader for Barrel Dragon, but I also got my last Gearfried the Iron Knight and last Goblin Attack Force, so now my Deck is complete (at least until I replace Michizure with Tidal Wave when Labyrith of Nightmare comes out). You might notice I pointed out which of my Starter Deck cards are now holographic, since I'm tryin' to get holo versions of all the Starter Deck cards I had. I took out a lot of his Life Points with Gearfried the Iron Knight. He cleared the field with Dark Hole and tried to defend himself with Giant Germ, but I used Tribute to the Doomed (discarding Barrel Dragon) and reborned my Barrel Dragon to finish this duel. Round 2 Me vs Sal Yeah, I had to face him yet again. He put together a Light Deck, which is actually very potent. He started off by summoning Shining Angel, so I countered with placing my Morphing Jar #2 face-down. He summoned Lord of Dragons and tried activating Flute of Summoning Dragon, but I was in no mood to risk staring down his Blue-Eyes White Dragons, so I used Magic Jammer on it. He attacked my Morphing Jar #2 with Shining Angel, but he managed to draw two monsters right away after shuffling his Deck. After destroying his defenses with Gearfried the Iron Knight and my new holo Man-Eater Bug, I got out Summoned Skull and attacked him directly. He tried putting up more defenses, but I pulled Raigeki and finished things with Summoned Skull and Goblin Attack Force. Round 3 Me vs Enrique I face this guy almost every week, but this time he's gotten a LOT better. I attacked him directly with Jinzo, but he used Raigeki, reborned my Jinzo, and did the same to me. However, I managed to reborn his Time Wizard and call the flip correctly! I had the upper hand for a while after that, but he flipped Magician of Faith to return Raigeki, brought out Barrel Dragon, and attacked me directly. I never pulled anything I needed after that, so Enrique ended up winning the match with Barrel Dragon and La Jinn. Some people thought I'd be upset for not winning the Tournament, but heck, ya' can't win 'em all. It wouldn't be cool if one person won all the time, even if it's me! I'm actually glad that someone as cool as Enrique won the Tournament for the first time. Besides, I had a lot of fun, and that's what it's all about.... at least for me. Now for the trading. First of all, I finally managed to get Call of the Haunted! I traded it from my friend Andrew for Goblin Attack Force and Solemn Judgment, then I sold it to the rich Exodia kid for $40 so I could get a Mirror Force for my friend Edmund. I also got my last Gearfried the Iron Knight and Goblin Attack Force with what I had left. Later, I dueled John for cards (my Goblins against his two Solemn Judgments). It was a close duel, but I ended up coming out on top! That wasn't the end of it, though. The next day, I bought an extra Buster Blader for $5.00 and traded it for Barrel Dragon. Once I replacd Buster with Barrel, I traded Buster Blader to my friend Mark for his 1st Edition Call of the Haunted! I couldn't believe it! A lot more went on after the Tournament, but I'll let you read about it below.... Pros for the Weekend: -trading Andrew his Call of the Haunted for my Goblin Attack Force and Solemn Judgment -getting $40 for Call of the Haunted -getting a Mirror Force for Edmund -buying my last Gearfried the Iron Knight and my last Goblin Attack Force -winning two Solemn Judgments from John -buying a Buster Blader for $5.00 -trading my extra Buster Blader for Barrel Dragon -trading Buster Blader for a 1st Edition Call of the Haunted! -getting a holographic Man-Eater Bug from Mark -seeing Enrique win his first Tournament -trading a SDY Trap Hole for a holographic Trap Hole -winning a holographic Monster Reborn from an annoying kid who thought he could beat me -completing my Deck!!!!!!!! Cons for the Weekend: -ya' know, I can't think of any at all.... That pretty much covers things for this weekend.
