Weenie Burner rules all 12/7/02 Deck by: John Williams but played by my hired gun Ray Greg's Sports cards Westfield, N.J. (Upper-deck tourney; all restrictions apply) Let me explain how Weenie Burner represented last Saturday. My deck: Creatures: 3x Magician of Faith 3x Man-eater Bug 3x Jinzo #7 3x Mystic Lamp 3x Rainbow Flower 3x Cannon Soldier 2x Queen's Double 1x Cyber Jar Magic/Traps: 2x Fissure 2x Tribute to the Doomed 1x Monster Reborn 1x Change of Heart 1x Pot of Greed 1x Dark Hole 1x Raigeki 1x Mirror Force 2x Solemn Judgment 3x Messenger of Peace 3x Horn of the Unicorn 1x Swords of Revealing Light 1x Gravity Bind 2x Robbin' Goblin Sideboard: 2x Card Destruction 2x Banisher of the Light 2x Princess of Tsurugi 2x De-Spell 1x Fissure 1x Tribute to the Doomed 1x Confiscation 1x Soul Exchange 1x 7 Tools 1x Snatch Steal 1x Stop Defense Ray is like me and hates to conform to the everyday deck that everyone makes, and this dated back to our Magic the gathering days. So anyway, there weren't a lot of people there today for some odd reason, but still enough to have three rounds. The champs that had won all of the previous tourneys were going to be there, so I made him this deck, because it was unconventional from the average beatdown deck. We've played with this deck before but it fell short. We didn't have any Heavy Storms in the deck anymore, so we replaced it with Robbin Goblin.. Pharaoh's Servant was finally tourney legal, so I changed one of the Swords of Revealing Light for a Gravity bind, since S.O.R.L. has been restricted to one now. Round one: Ray vs. New guy (Maha Vailo deck ) Doesn't matter how big you buff him up, he still cant attack. Ray won this easily Round two: Me (Gate Guardian) vs. Ray (weenie burner) This was just great! Ray is my hired gun. I make a second deck, and he plays it in the tourney. We talk about it afterward if something comes of it. So, here's how it went down. First game, Swords of revealing light. (remember there's only one of them allowed now) with direct attacking weenies. Three turns, Magician of Faith, swords again. After three turns of more weenies killing me slowly, he flips another magician of Faith! On the ninth turn I died. Second game I won with my Aqua Madoors and Stone Soldiers, since the Messenger of peace doesn't stop them. Third game was a lot more of the first game, and I go down to my own deck. I'm mad but not mad. Round Three—Finals: Ray vs. Yunus Offensive Exodia) Well Ray loses the first game, but in the second game with the Messenger blocking big attackers, and the Robbin' Goblins taking Exodia pieces he wins the second game. Game three, Yunus decides to not even try to win with Exodia, except as AN ATTACKER! I have never seen Exodia the forbidden one being placed on the field in face-up attack mode on purpose until this day. But it was a sound move though, Exodia attacks under the Messenger of peace blanket and can kill an un-powered weenie at 1000/1000. Solemn wishes slowed the process up a bit, but Ray eventually won the match and the tourney! I felt proud for my deck that I knew had the ability. So this week there was no third round for me, since Official tourneys are supposed to be single elimination, but My hired gun won the tourney that day and got three packs. Out of which came a Dokurorider. Whatever. Look forward to my report on my own deck.
