Ok its supposed to start at 8, but it started at 9:45.  I had made it to the 4th round last week where I lost to an adult who is 35 and obviously has NO LIFE if all he can do is go around beating kids at a card game to which he has access to any card he could dream of.  Might I add all of his cards were in silk, gold card protectors… stupid loser… anywayz!  My friend and I walked around early on to do some trading, I found a guy with a Wall of Illusion that I had been looking for.  I traded him my Catapult Turtle for his Wall of Illusion and his Maha Valio (sweet card!)  I found my name at a table and sat down across from my opponent-a 12-year-old boy with a 180-card deck… riiiiight.  I was right next to a table selling boosters, singles, and card protectors so I bought a pack of 50 green card protectors and spent a few minutes putting them on all my cards.  At 9:45 the head lady started the duels.

Round One

Me VS Michael

Not much to say about this one, he had absolutely NO strategy.  He just started off playing monsters in defense, which really got annoying, but no problem.  I don’t call my deck a monster removal deck for no reason.  I quickly smashed through his defenses and won both duels.

WIN: (8000-0) (8000-0)

Round Two

Me VS Ethan

He had a ton of good cards, but no strategy to play them.  He had toons, rituals, direct damage cards, and lord of dragons.  Which are all cards that usually have whole decks built around them, they aren’t supposed to be all thrown together in one big deck.  First duel he got out a card that let him discard magic cards from his hand to do 500 damage to me per card.  First duel I did a one turn win (ok technically 2 turns but oh well).  First turn I soul exchanged his man-eater bug for my Summoned Skull, no attack though.  Next he played a card in defense.  I played change of heart and stole his giant germ, and flipped it to attack mode.  I played my Hayabusa Knight w/a megamorph and 2 malevolent nuzzlers and attacked him w/all the monster to totally destroy his life points.    2nd duel didn’t have much to it besides me totally Pwning him with my Maha Valio w/Malevolent Nuzzler and Summoned Skull.

WIN: (7000-0) (8000-0)

Ok here everyone took forever so I found my friend and found out that he lost first round, sucks to be him!  We went to buy some boosters and I bought 2 metal raiders packs (hoping to get a much needed Barrel Dragon) and got sword and shield and some crap card, I gave them to my friend.  Then he buys 2 metal raiders too and gets a little chimera and…. A BARREL DRAGON!! What the heck! If I had let him buy his boosters first I would have the barrel dragon, not HIM!  That upset me quite a bit, and then some little kid just traded for a 1st Ed barrel dragon, so I decided to try trade and get one from him.  I met this kid last week and he is OBSESSED with gate guardian, he got it for his b-day or something and he hauls it around in this huge container that he can hardly fit his little hands around.  Just as he was about to take my Garnecia Elefantis, Invader of the Throne, Thousand Dragon, and Sanga of the Thunder for his BD, some guy walks up and offers him a Sujinn and a Sanga for it, and he says OK!!! He told me he did it because the other guy was giving him 2 pieces of the GG, not one.  Makes me feel like crap for trading my Kazejin away last week for a Mystical Space Typhoon and a Pot of Greed, I thought it was a good trade cuz Kazejin is the worst GG piece.  So I went to find my opponent for the third round after losing TWO OPPROTUNITIES to get a barrel dragon.  My friend let me use his barrel dragon and his prohibition for the duel (I needed the prohibition so I could not let my next opponent use his Jinzo #7 that I saw him waste a kid with earlier on).

Third Round

Me VS Jeremy (another adult who is 30 years old and just like the guy last week has NO LIFE if all he can do is come to kiddy tourneys and beat up on little kids, he told me the other place he used to duel he always lost, so he came here to win for once… LOSER!)

First duel he pulled out gravity bind and pretty much won the duel by playing gravity bind and rainbow flower w/2 axe of despair on it.  He countered all of my attempts to get rid of gravity bind and that stupid flower.  2nd duel I used prohibition to cancel out gravity bind.  I won pretty easily cuz I kept removing his monsters and chipping away at his LP.  Ok third duel took over 40 minutes and was really controversial.  Ok on his first turn he plays card destruction and gets rid of my Mage of Faith, Summoned Skull, Monster Reborn, Soul Exchange, and Tribute to the Doomed. I was pretty mad until I drew an excellent combo, which I’ll tell u about in a sec.  He played Jinzo #7 w/horn of the unicorn and tried to attack me directly on his first turn, he said he could cuz its an effect and after about 5 minutes of arguing w/him and the judge lady, I finally found in the rule book where is said NO ATTACKING ON THE FIRST TURN!  It was kind of weird cuz the head judge lady was almost fighting for him even though me, 2 other judges, and everyone watching said that he couldn’t attack on the first turn.  So here’s my big combo: I drew a Guardian of the Throne Room (Machine 1650/1500) and limiter removal along with change of heart and some other cards.  I used CoH on his Jinzo#7 w/HotU (which is a machine) played Guardian and then limiter removal.  This resulted in a 5700 attack, leaving him with 2300 LP.  From there I was already looking forward to the next round, I had him beat… right?  Next turn he flips over my new most hated card “Solomon Wishes” u gain 500 LP every time u have to draw a card(s).  For the next 5 turns neither of us drew ANY monsters, mean while he was slowly gaining back all of his LP.  After a llooooooooong duel, and him screwing up the score TONS of times, I had 5500 life points left, he had like 3050 and neither of us was drawing monsters.  (FYI each round is timed to be 40 minutes, after that the one with the most Life Points wins) I called to see how much time was left and she said 2 minutes, the duel was mine… right?  The time was up and I was wondering why she wasn’t saying anything.  Then when I was about to end my turn we heard her say to another judge “go tell them that the time is up and the one w/the most LP wins.”  At that point I had 5500 and he had 5050.  I did NOT end my turn but he decided to draw and get 500 LP from Solomon wishes giving him a 50 LP lead.  And the guy she told to tell us to stop had just walked up to the table just after Jeremy scribbled his new LP down.  I immediately stood up and started freaking out at the judge lady and said that it was totally unfair and that if she was gonna default somebody it had better be him b/c earlier she had tried to end the duel due to the 40 minutes being up, but Jeremy complained that the 5 minutes we spent arguing about his first turn Jinzo #7 attack should not count for our dueling time so she had given us 5 more minutes, and I was ahead by like 2000 LP, he tried to screw me out of winning like 10 times! And so did the head judge lady!  In the end he played messenger of peace and gravity bind and just waited for me to card out, which I did.  I would have killed for a heavy storm.  I should of won on my third turn if I could only of drawn a monster when he had 2300 LP.

LOSS (0-5500) (4550-0) (0-6750)
