Neo-Craig v1.0 Craig Roberts The Lucky Frog: 11am tournament Annandale, VA 12-7-02 Pre-tournament: This morning sucked big time... I woke up at 8:30, and had to rush out the door to get to Saturday detention at my school (seriously now, is having long hair three weeks ago really deserve that). I was stuck there sleeping till about 11:00, upon which I ran out the door and hurried home to change and grab my deck, got to the Lucky Frog just as the guy was filing out the 1st round brackets. Entrance fee is $1 if you don't want a TP2 pack, $4 if you want one. I went in the back and got $3 from Blaine, signed up, got a pack, and gave it to him (and luckily for me, not him, there were no rares in it). My Tournament Deck: Neo-Craig v1.0 (name courtesy of Goat) Deck size: 40 cards Monsters (20): 1 x Jinzo 2 x Summoned Skull 3 x Giant Soldier of Stone 3 x Man-Eater Bug 2 x Magician of Faith 2 x Sangan 1 x Witch of the Black Forest 2 x Masked Sorcerer 2 x Wall of Illusion 1 x Cyber Jar 1 x Mystic Tomato Magics (17): 1 x Monster Reborn 1 x Premature Burial 1 x Snatch Steal 1 x Change of Heart 1 x Pot of Greed 1 x Raigeki 1 x Dark Hole 1 x Delinquent Duo 1 x Swords of Revealing Light 1 x Nobleman of Extermination 1 x Nobleman of Crossout 2 x Tribute to the Doomed 1 x Giant Trunade 2 x Heavy Storm 1 x Giant Trunade Traps (3): 1 x Call of the Haunted 1 x Mirror Force 1 x Imperial Order I do have a sidedeck, but since I never used it, I won't bother mentioning it. Remaining Participants: 22 1st Round: me vs alex (worst deck ever) Duel 1: I laid down a man-eater bug on the first turn, he lays a time wizard facedown the next turn, I flip man-eater bug then sacrafice it for Summoned Skull and attack for rest of duel, he doesn't play any monsters for rest of duel. Duel 2: He went first and put only a few m/t down on the field. I lay down a masked sorcerer and attack, he doesn't do anything his next turn, I put down giant soldier and attack again, he responds with an enchanted javalin... the rest of the duel, he didn't do anything. Remaining Participants: 11 2nd Round: me vs michael brooks (i think beatdown today, i don't remember) Duel 1: I don't really remember this match for some reason, but I think i just stalled till Jinzo and Summoned Skull and came back (and if not, we'll just say i did, hehe). Duel 2: I think he beat me pretty quickly with high attack monsters, I didn't get any magics (or was that in my second duel in my fun match against goat)... either way he won it quickly. Duel 3: A rerun of the first episode, I stalled, then I got out Jinzo and summoned skull, and possibly snatch stole something to kill him. Remaining participants: 6 3rd Round: me vs keith (not my brother, an asian kid) (beatdown deck) Duel 1: Just about everyone I played today did beatdown, so as always, I just stalled till I got out Summoned Skull and Jinzo, then kept his entire field clear for a turn or two to finish him off. Duel 2: He hurt me bad in the beginning (down to around 2500 life left near beginning), then I hit him with small monsters and slowly got him down to just below 5000. Once more again, I cleared his entire field and put out a Summoned Skull and megamorphed it to finish him in one hit. Remaining Participants: 3 4th Round: bye I sat around for a long time as I waited for to catch up in the lower bracket (in which seemingly every good player aside from me was placed... yay), sat through their quarterfinals then through watched the semifinals (my bye put me right into the finals). Remaining Participants: 2 5th Round me vs ....I never asked him his name (beatdown deck ...again) Duel 1: I got Summoned Skull out on my second turn (flipped and then tributed a man-eater) His next turn he put down a wotbf in facedown, which I promptly nobleman of crossedout, then hit him again and put him at 3000. Then over the next 4 or 5 turns, he made a huge comeback and I got down to 500 (only was able to do 100 damage to him in the meantime, while he 7 tooled and solemn judgement a few of my traps; putting him at 950), i did manage to do another 350 damage, somehow and got him to 600. I pretty much stayed in defense for a majority of the rest of the duel (didn't want to risk, opening myself for even one attack), eventually I got a heavy storm and finally cleared his m/t field, which turned out to be only a trap hole and michizure (and not a waboku as I thought there would be), and finished him off with a masked sorcerer. Duel 2: I don't even know what happened (is that what you call a black out?), but Scoot assures me that I owned him for the entire duel, and ended it in about 5-7 turns. 1st place: Craig Roberts (that's me, in case you don't know) Prize: a measly $10 store credit (how is it that when I don't get first, the prize is big, and when I do, it's horrible) 2nd place: that kid of whom I didn't know his name Prize: $6 store credit (worst second place prize ever) 3rd place: sam (he had a really heavy beatdown deck, so yay, I didn't have to play him) Prize: $6 store credit (hahahah, what the hell is wrong with this place) post-tournament notes: this was an official duelist king tournament (note the TP2 packs), so we went by the new restrictions and did everything by the rules (or you get DQ, no calling it on somebody and being able to do it yourself; like I had seen on some report a few weeks ago), so no promos, japanese, or.... cards from other games (hehe, i pull out darth vader's tie fighter and elite tie pilot). that was my third time winning first in a four week period (damn goat for beating my with a pseudo version of my deck last weekend in the semifinals). oh well, with my great big sum of almost nonexsistant store credit, i ended up getting 2 psv packs (3.50) and 5 candy bars (assortment of crunch, snickers and all that .50) and a soda (.50).... ended up not getting anything good in the packs, so phewwy... props: - goat (what are the chances) has a pseudo version of my old deck - scott (....) has a pseudo version of the deck i used today - for being just that good, at least compared to the others in my area - no exodia players whatsoever today - for two 5-day weekends (thursday through monday off) in a row (same thing last week for thanksgiving) off of school. - to my man-eating, soul-absorbing, indestructible gelatin mold (gamefaqs yugioh post) - to my lucky quarter, which no one else has ever alled right in the past week. - to my awesome deck building skills - for getting to play against michael like 3 or 4 weeks in a row either 1st or 2nd round - new restriction list for psv (finally YAY) slops: - goat (old pseudo-craig) for losing in the first round against scott (pseudo neo-craig) - scott (pseudo neo) for losing in the second round to alex - low turnout/bad prize money (note to self: enter 1am tourney when possible; $28 prize for 1st) - for horrible pickings on the packs i bought - detention - missing bank business hours because of detention and the tournament - having to wake up today - for getting banned from pojoyugioh weeks ago (the reason posted with it doesn't even make sense: "yo_last_duel backwash peddling" how is that even related to me "cowboi") if one of the ops just happens to read this.... UNBAN ME... uh, please... - not going to the mall to play gauntlet legends (old but addictive; and very expensive) That's pretty much it... I am going to another tournament tomorrow at someplace i never been to before, but goat assures me that there are only n00bs there; so let's just assume i got 1st or 2nd there too.... cya all next time, same bat-place, same bat-time. wanna reach me? too bad... hehe j/k aim: certemplar2003 (don't msg me to chat duel; i don't trust people in that anymore) email: certemplar@yahoo.com (file that under spam) pojoyugioh (if i can ever get back on): cowboi gamefaqs: i'm on scott's old name: judgeblt (usually in an the TTA asylum) "you asked for heroes, you didn't say anything about sanity" - chameleon boy (superman)
