16 Duelists

Hey again! This week was actually pretty interesting. I've just made some major improvements to
my Deck, so I wasn't sure how it'd do this weekend. I decided to replace my Harpie's Brothers and
La Jinns with some Gearfried the Iron Knights and Goblin Attack Forces. I still need to get two
more Iron Knights and one more Goblin Attack Force, but my Deck still works with a Harpie's
Brother and La Jinn. Also, I replaced a Cannon Soldier with White Magical Hat until I get my
other Goblin Attack Force, and it's discarding ability actually came in handy!

Round 1
Me vs Edmund
Edmund is my best friend, so I know his Dragon Deck all too well. He'd actually do well if he had
the staple cards (Raigeki, Mirror Force, Swords of Revealing Light) but for now, his Deck really
isn't all that great. He set down a lot of Magics and Traps, but I wasn't worried. I used Dark
Hole on his Giant Soldier of Stone and attacked directly with Cannon Soldier. He tried setting
down defense monsters like Island Turtle and Mystical Elf, but I used Tribute to the Doomed and
Raigeki and kept attacking directly 'til it was over.

Round 2
Me vs Ivan
Ivan is a really cool guy, and he'd just got back from a few weeks of absence, so I don't think
he was ready for all the changes I'd made to my Deck while he was gone. He managed to keep me on
the ropes for the first few turns, but after I used Ceasefire to negate his Flip Monsters, I got
out my Jinzo and Gearfried the Iron Knight to destroy his defenses. After I cleared the field
with Raigeki and Heavy Storm, I attacked with both of my monsters and ended it.

Round 3
Me vs Zack
This really wasn't a fair fight, and I felt kinda bad for duelin' him. He was only put into the
Advanced Tournament because we needed one more person and he kept bugging us to let him sign up.
Anyway, he started out by setting a Morphing Jar #2, but I used Tribute to the Doomed (discarding
my Buster Blader) and reborned my Buster Blader to attack directly. He never put out anything
else that could stop me, so I just tore apart his Life Points with Buster Blader and Gearfried
the Iron Knight.

Round 4
Me vs Sal
I was worried about Sal since he nearly defeated me last week, but this time it wasn't nearly as
bad. He did manage to get out his Summoned Skull and attack me directly, but I equipped it with
Snatch Steal, tributed it for Jinzo, and attacked him directly with both Jinzo and White Magical
Hat (luckily the random card I had him discard was Change of Heart). He eventually used Dark
Hole, but I used Premature Burial to return Jinzo to the field and finished him off with Jinzo
and Gearfried the Iron Knight.

I'm glad that I won for the third time in a row, but some of our best duelists couldn't show up
for a variety of reasons. I may have been able to beat 'em anyway, but it certainly would've been
more challenging.... and I enjoy challenging duels more than easy ones, to be honest. Anyway, I
won a Deck Box, Metallic Black Sleeves, a Magic Ruler pack, and some stickers. I also did some
massive trading today! I traded my Barrel Dragon for Buster Blader and Goblin Attack Force, then
later traded my Limiter Removal and Holo Summoned Skull for an extra Jinzo. Afterward, I traded
Jinzo for Tri-Horned Dragon so I could trade the Card Shop owner for a Raigeki to give to my best
friend Edmund. It should really help out his Deck!

Pros for the Weekend:
-winning the Tournament again
-getting Gearfried the Iron Knight for helping out a friend
-trading a Barrel Dragon for Buster Blader and Goblin Attack Force
-getting the Deck Box and Metallic Black Sleeves I was going to eventually buy anyway
-getting a Raigeki for Edmund

Cons for the Weekend:
-losing Holo Summoned Skull (I have a SDY Summoned Skull now, but it's worth it to help a friend)
-not getting a Pharaoh's Servant pack since the rich Exodia kid bought 4 boxes
-pulling Flying Kamakiri #1 from my Magic Ruler pack
-not having any more extras to trade Ivan for his Gearfried the Iron Knight
-still no Call of the Haunted....

Well, that pretty much wraps things up for this weekend. If anyone has any questions or
suggestions, feel free to E-Mail me at mfillman125@msn.com anytime!
