Alright, this is my second tourney, first tourney report. The first one was, well… I was new to tournaments; we’ll leave it at that. But this one went much better. First off I run sort of an integrated strategy that can be mixed when necessary. My deck is full of direct damage for overwhelming beatdowns and strong monsters and quick hitters for everything else. It’s not that great right now but I plan on making it better for next week. Anyways, here’s my deck…

Monsters:

X1 Toon Summoned Skull (like summoned skull and jinzo #5)

X1 Toon Mermaid (like above but goes great w/ MoP)

X1 Princess of Tsurugi (‘nuff said)

X1 MEB(see above)

X1 Cannon Soldier (goes great w/ CoH)

X2 White Magical Hat (4 pieces of Exodia huh? Not anymore.)

X2 WotBF (see MEB)

X2 LaJinn (no, he’s not the one from Aladin)

X2 Giant Germ (what’s wrong, it looks like you’re coming down with a cold)

X1 MoF (3 BEWD’s and 2 SS, not when I bring Raigeki back!)

X2 Harpie’s Brother (see WotBF)

X1 Mask of Darkness (I get Just Desserts back, yay!)

X1 Cyber Jar (boom)

X1 GsoS (the next 3 have saved my life points a couple of times)

X1 Spirit of the Harp

X1 Aqua Madoor

X1 Wall of Illusion (no more SS for you)

X1 Summoned Skull (such raw power!!)

Magic/Trap:

X1 Toon World (I want another one so bad!!)

X1 Black Pendant (painful w/ Giant Germ)

X1 Raigeki (I think you get the point…)

X2 Malevolent Nuzzler (much better than some of the other equips right now)

X1 Soul Exchange (great for pulling out my Toon SS)

X1 CoH (nuff said)

X1 Trap Hole (thinking about adding some more)

X1 MoP (see Toon Mermaid)

X1 Tttd (ain’t half bad)

X2 Ookazi (burn baby burn)

X1 Dark Hole (raw power)

X2 Just Desserts (who thought such a fat monkey could do so much damage?)

X1 De-Spell (Ground Collapse can become annoying)

X1 Fairy’s Hand Mirror (I take your SS. No, but you can have my Aqua Madoor instead)

X1 Waboku (duh)

X1 Fissure (underestimated card in my opinion)

X1 Gravity Bind

X1 Monster Reborn (another duh)

K, this tournament was with points. Best 2 out of 3. 2-0 you got 4 points, 2-1 you got 3 points, 1-2 you got 2 points, 0-2 you got one point. Unfortunately, someone had already gotten a bye by the time my friend and I arrived so only one of us could enter. He said I could if I gave him something to repay for it, and naturally I agreed. There were 4 rounds so the max you could have is 16 points. My points will be down at the bottom of each round.

Round 1: Me vs. kid I know from school, Wes

Match 1: Wes was ok, but I couldn’t find his strategy.  He had good cards, just no strategy. Oh well. First round I got down to 2600 I think because of my toons but he lost so match one to me. Highlight of the round: I played Raigeki, laid MoF down, his turn he attacked my MoF with 7 colored I brought back Raigeki, my turn draw Toon World, play it, soul exchange his 7 colored for Toon SS and bring out Toon Mermaid. He laid a monster face down next turn, I play White Magical Hat and Raigeki and pummeled his life points.

Match 2: Ok, I’ll spare you. He didn’t even touch my life points… Highlight: none.

Points: 4

Round 2: Me vs. Little kid who owns like every card, Daniel

Match 1 & 2: He didn’t touch my life points once. It was pretty sad. He tried drawing more than one card every turn, and a couple of times I let it slide. After I beat him, he said he went easy on me, ~_~. I played along, it seemed to make him feel better. Highlight: I discarded one of his Exodia pieces and a Jinzo in one round.

Points: 8

Round 3: Me vs. High Schooler who pummeled me into the ground with no mercy, Kevin

Match 1: Ok this guy never loses. But I began to get a little suspicious cuz he said he only had one Pot of Greed in his deck and he always seemed to have it with his Raigeki in his starting hand.  I forfeited the first round because he had a Jinzo, SS, and MoF and I had no monsters. Highlight: how I lost was the highlight, sad enough.

Match 2: I forfeited this round too, same situation. I’m beginning to think he was a cheat. He wouldn’t let me cut his deck b/c he said “It takes too much time.” >n< erghh. Oh well I’ll beat him next time. He did help me with my deck though.

Points: 9

Round 4: Me vs. Kevin’s little bro, Robert

Match 1: This kid runs a direct damage/lockdown/relinquished deck. He made a big mistake by playing Burning Land first turn. I quickly played my 2 Ookazis and followed up with 2 Just Desserts and a Giant Germ face down. Needless to say he ran out of life points fairly quickly. Highlight: I just described the highlight.

Match 2: I actually don’t remember too much of this one. Sorry. I did win though.

Points: 13

Hey I got second cool. Kevin got first, and I had to leave before I could find out the third place match. It was a tie between Wes and Robert. I bought my friend his pack and I bought one for me. The kid who got a pack before us got a Premature Burial, and proceeded to bend it out of shape after he got it. I thought my friend and I would get some good stuff, but we got crap. In my prizes, I got Prohibition and … CALL OF THE HAUNTED!!!! Yeah!!!! So that’s my tourney report, see ya’ next week!
