This is my first tourney report and this is my 7th or 8th tourney. I was waiting to win the whole tourney to write a report, but o well. This was a sanctioned tourney, so Pharaoh’s Servant was legal and we also had to use the new restriction list -_-
I believe the tourney was delayed or was it just me? Anywho, before the tourney got started I traded this boy a twin-headed king rex and a spare hercules beetle for two of his harpie’s brothers and one of his malevolent nuzzlers.
Mean time I was scoping out the competition and watching people showing each other their decks. There were these three new boys there and one of um was saying that either him or one of the other two boys were gonna win the whole tourney. He picked a grudge with the boy that traded me the cards that I needed for my deck. Later on they started the tourney. I was up (if u r wondering I will put the deck list at the end of the report)……
Round One
Me vs. a newcomer named Jose
First Duel: LP count: Jose: 8000-5300-2600-600-0
Me: 8000-5300-3450
On this duel he got out Yami on his first turn, which helps my deck because it is a Beatdown deck. In my first hand I believe I got Summoned Skull, Change of heart, and some other cards (sorry about my memory, maybe next time I will pay more attention). He went first and put some monster. Then I think I used change of heart then took his monster and tributed it for summoned skull. I attacked his LP twice with summoned skull. Then some how he removed summoned skull from the field and attacked my LP. After that I think I used la jinn and attacked his LP. After that I beat him.(1-0)
Second Duel: LP count: Jose: 8000-5300-2600-1400
Me: 8000-6100
This time he didn’t get a lot of shots at my LP. He got Yami on the field on his first turn again. I used change of heart (some how it got in my opening hand again) and tributed his monster for summoned skull. He trap holed it. Bad right? Nope, I had monster reborn also in my hand. After two shots at his LP with summoned skull, I think I was using summoned skull to get rid of his face down monsters and attacking his LP with my other monster. He gave up after he had 1400 LP left. I shook his hand and it was off to the next duel. (2-0)
Round Two
Me vs. Judge John
First Duel: LP count: John: 8000-????????-0
Me: 8000-6200-4500-3100-2200
This duel was quite blurry. I don’t really remember any of it. I do know he kept his own LP. He did take a couple of shots at my LP, but at the end I won the duel. (3-0)
Second Duel: LP count: John: 8000-??????-0
Me: 8000-6200-4400-3600
This duel was the same as the last one (meaning that I’m not quite sure what happened). He took some shots at my LP I believe he had the upper hand until I came back at him. I shook hands and I was off to my next duel. (4-0)
I was waiting for my name to be called, someone pulled a morphing jar O_O!! If I had lost I might have gotten the jar -_- ..O and most of the people were on him like a cheap suit… Anyways they called my name and who I was facing and it was the person that beat me in the second round a few weeks back….. While we were sitting down, the judge told him to beat me -_-
Round Three (Quarter-Finals)
Me vs. Rob
First Duel: LP count: Rob: 8000-???????
Me: 8000-6000-4000-0
I know this duel very well. It didn’t take him too long to finish me this round. He brung out a hayabusa knight with an axe of despair. I tried to defend, but once he destroyed one of my monsters, he attacked my LP (since hayabusa can attack twice). It was pretty quick (4-1)
Second Duel: LP count: Rob: 8000-??????-0
Me: 8000-6200-5850
This time I won this duel. I’m not quite sure what happened in this duel. But I do remember he tried to tribute my monster to bring back his axe of despair. I said he couldn’t do that. He asked the judge and he agreed with me. He also tried to trap hole one of my monsters but he had prohibited it with his prohibition. (5-1)
Third Duel: LP count: Rob: 8000-????????
Me: 8000-5200-2500-0
This time he beat me. I’m not sure what happened here either, but I do remember that I had la jinn in attack mode and he had some 1800 attacker and a hayabusa knight with an axe (which I tried to trap hole but I think he 7 tools’d my trap hole). Then he attacked my la jinn with his 1800 attacker and I flipped rush recklessly. He loses LP then attacks la jinn with his knight. I asked does the power from rush recklessly stay during the whole turn. He asked that judge and the judge said it doesn’t O_o. After that he beat me. We shook hands and he was on to his next duel (5-2)
I was eliminated. But I think rush recklessly stays for the whole turn. O well. After the tourney, I had a 3-way match and won once then lost the next time.
