My name: Holland Avery Tournament: Wizards of the Coast Location: Puyallup, WA Date: 8-6-02 5:30pm System: Swiss Participants: 10 Deck Name: Should have placed 2nd Monster/22 3x 7 colored fish (Good attack, no tribute) 3x La jinn (Same as La Jinn) 3x summoned skull (good attack, 1 tribute) 3x neo (Same as La Jinn) 2x Man Eater Bug (you attack me with BEWD, ha I kill it) 2x Magician of faith (You thought I used monster reborn and change of heart, well I got them back) 2x Jirai Gumo (Stall, or the occasional attack) 1x dark elf (Stall and good attacker) 1x wall of illusion (good protection agaisnt La Ginn and fish) 1x big eye (So I can plan ahead) 1x witch of the black forest (It may die, but now I gett MEB or MOF or SK) Magic/10 3x fissure (Kill monster) 1x monster reborn (Get my guy back) 1x change of heart (Get your guy and use its effect) 1x dark hole (Clear the field) 1x soul release (you use MOF, well I removed your all your magic cards) 1x heavy storm (Clear magic field) 1x card destruction (Get it in 1st hand, riun someones day) 1x pot of Greed (Two more cards) 1x soul exchange (Play my skull kill thiers Trap/7 3x Trap Hole (NO monster for you) 2x Waboku (No damage for me) 1x mirror force (You attack with 3 Skulls and 2 BEWD's, Bah I kill them all) 1x robin goblin (Say good-bye to your cards Sideboard/15 1x dragon capture jar (Too bad dragon decks) 2x reverse trap 2x remove trap 1x soul release 1x mask of darkness 1x card destruction 1x robin goblin don't remember the rest, I only used the dragon capture jar and mask of darkness. This tournament was a little odd, thier were 10 people (5 dollars to be in), we had 4 rounds, each round you play someone with an iddentical record. I new a few people there, my brother who has a good deck, this guy named Si and his brother who have dragon decks, a kid named Mark who has a good deck too. The rest of the people I didin't know. Round 1 Me vs. Paublo (new to game, friend of Si) went very fast, I had 3 trap holes in my 1st hand, and 2 La Jinns. I played my la Ginn, trap holed his 1st guy, played my other and attacked. Then got a summoned skull, and brought him to 100 life. Next turn I beat him. Me 1-0 brother 1-0 Si 1-0 Mark 1-0 Round 2 Me vs. some kid I didn't know but he had like a 80 card deck. Don't know the details but I won by attacking with 4 summoned skulls and 7 colored fish. Results Me 2-0 Brother 2-0 Si 1-1 (My brother beat him) Mark 1-1 Round 3 Me vs. My brother Bad for me, I drew all attacking monsters in my 1st had, my brother went 1st, he trap holed every monster I layed, he used Raigeki and dark hole, I never had a chance, just lame cards. Results Me 2-1 Brother 3-0 Si 2-1 (beat Mark) Mark 1-2 Round 4 Me vs. Si I won fast, I had a hand of 1 monster and 5 magic/trap cards, 1 of which was card destruction. So he lost his 1st hand, I had 3 trap holes and never let him do anything. Results Me 3-1 Brother 4-0 (Congrats) Si 2-2 Mark 2-2 My brother beat the other guy who was 3-0. So that guy ended 3-1 like me. But since he won 3 in a row he got 2nd. Lame!! He also wouldn't accept a duel agaisnt me for 2nd. He also never went agaisnt anyone good, not once agaisnt Me, Si, Mark, or Si's bro. He definatley didn't deserve 2nd. Prizes were: 1st: 5 boosters (A TTTD and a gate gaurdian piece) 2nd: 3 boosters (He got nothing good, Bah) 3rd: 2 boosters (I got 7tools and Muka Muka) Props: *To wizards for having this tournament *To me for getting 3 MEB, pot of greed, and the last La Ginn I needed *To me for getting better cards then 2nd place Slops: *To the guy that wouldn't duel me for 2nd *To tournament coordinator for not having everyone face everyone *To Paublo who, after a kid told him "I have a Gate Gaurdian" quickly responded with "I have a life", which caused the kid to cry. *To me for loosing to my brother Well all in all this was a good 1st tournament.
