Wizards of the Coast @ Springfield, VA August 10th, 2002 32 People Participated For those of you that don’t know me my name is Scott. Three weeks ago I got 5th place in the same tournament, but 48 people were in. Well, here’s my deck: Monsters Sanga of the Thunder Summoned Skull x3 Dark Elf Kazejin La Jinn x3 7 Colored Fish x2 Giant Soldier of Stone Witch of the Black Forest x2 Wall of Illusion x2 Sangan x2 Mask of Darkness Man-Eater Bug x2 Magician of Faith Kuriboh x2 Traps: Mirror Force Magic Jammer Seven Tools of the Bandit Robbin’ Goblin Woboku x2 Trap Hole x3 Magic: Raigeki Pot of Greed Monster Reborn Change of Heart Dark Hole Swords of Revealing Light Heavy Storm Card Destruction Soul Exchange x2 Fissure x3 Soul Release Sideboard: Time Wizard Blue Eyes White Dragon x3 Kazejin Hane-Hane Fake Trap Reinforcements x2 Castle Walls Card Destruction Stop Defense Block Attack Shield & Sword De-Spell The main cards I switched my main deck with my side deck were Robbin’ Goblin and Fake Trap. Well, here’s what happened in the tournament. Round 1: Me vs. Beatdown deck Duel 1: This match was tough right of the bat. We kept beating each other down and then he won with his Summoned Skull and La Jinn. In: Fake Trap Out: Robbin’ Goblin Duel 2: This is the part that I came back and beat him down with a Summoned Skull. He attempted to Heavy Storm me twice. The first time I activated Waboku, then the second timed I Fake Traped him. Eventually I won. Duel 3: This was a really close match. We were both near 3000 LP then I did this combo to beat him: Heavy Storm +Raigeki +Reborn Summoned Skull Summon + La Jinn = Goodbye Round 2: Me vs. Beatdown deck #2 Duel 1: This match was even harder! I didn’t stand a chance because I got my worse hand ever and didn’t even touch his LP Duel 2: The tables turned on him because I got a great hand and beat him down as quickly as I could. My LP at the end of this duel was 6200 (he hit me with La Jinn) Duel 3: This was THE closest duel I’ve been in. At first he beat me down to about 4000, but I followed him by beating him down to 5600. Paul announced that the time would be up in 2 minutes! I was hasting and got a lucky draw: Mirror Force! I used it when he had a Summoned Skull and a La Jinn on the field trying to attack me directly. I then drew a Monster Reborn and La Jinn following it. Paul said to us that we each had 1 more turn each. My last turn went first I hit his face down monster with La Jinn and it was a Sangan. Then I hit him directly with Summoned Skull. My LP was at 3750 and he was at 2500. He put a Giant Soldier of Stone in Defense mode and it was over! Round 3 (Quarter Finals): Me vs. Blaine (oh no!!!) Beatdown deck I was hoping not to duel him in the tournament I thought I was Doomed. Duel 1: I beat him down as fast as I could with Summoned Skulls, La Jinns, and 7 Colored Fishes. He just couldn’t keep up with me and I won this duel. Duel 2: This duel my Change of Heart was my best friend. What I did was I used Change of Heart and it was a Magician of Faith so I grabbed my Change of Heart and killed him with it. Round 4 (Semi-Finals): Me vs. Eric (NO!!!!!!!!!) Really good Beatdown Duel 1 and 2: He slaughtered me both times with La Jinns, Summoned Skulls, and 7 Colored Fishes. I didn’t even stand a chance. Now I had to duel the loser of the other semi-final match for 3rd place Duel 1: We started of beating each other down and eventually got 2 Summoned Skulls out and he was toast. Duel 2: Change of Heart was my best friend again. I got 2 Summoned Skull and a La Jinn out and used Change of Heart and it was Magician of Faith so I grabbed it again and used it on his other face down monster and it was a Mask of Darkness and I hit him for an even 8000. The prize I got was 2 boosters. The guy that I beat got a B. Skull Dragon! While I pulled my 3rd Sangan and my 3rd Shadow Ghoul. Eric ended up getting 2nd (5 boosters) place and Jeffery got 1st (7 boosters) place. To contact Scott T. e-mail me at ninjatak@hotmail.com Well that’s it. I hope you had fun reading it. Happy dueling!
