Team Hunger Force
Chris "Mcnabb" Evans
By Tony Mera

4.18.07

Mera: Whats you're name?

Evans: Chris "Mcnabb" Evans.

Mera: Where are you from?

Evans: Cheverly Terrace and Land over, Maryland which is right outside of D.C.

Mera: When did you start playing Yu-Gi-Oh and what got you into this game?

Evans: It started by taking my little cousin to the game store to play it, and it looked fun so I tried it I was horrible at first. I got good with a lot of devotion and practice always wanting to learn how to get better then I started winning and joined Team High Jack which was Mike, Tim, and I.

Mera: What are you're accomplishment's?

Evans: I have top eighted and won many regionals, I won a crush card in Orlando getting third place with gadget's. I also am the leader of Hunger Force, leading my team to victory.

Mera: Winning a crush card is good, but leading one of the best team's in the game is amazing.

Evans: I have done well at many other sjc's, but always lost on the bubble. I was glad to finally make t8 to get my third place.

Mera: That obviously mean's you like the top three getting crush card's. but do you like the top sixteen system?

Evans: I like the top sixteen system, because it helped my team mate Brian Long make top sixteen to get into the top eight at Columbus Sjc.

Mera: Is controlling a whole team difficult or is it easy?

Evans: We are all friend's which make it easy. They are all cool people. We always hang out, and do other thing than Yu-Gi-Oh like play basketball or watch a movie. Which makes leading the team easy, to get us to top eight event's we go to. I try to think of new ideas's and help the team with what ever they need. I organize everything and try to get us in the right direction to lead us where we need to be.

Mera: How did Team Hunger Force come back together?

Evans: I was tired of the business feel off the game and Hunger Force is more like family. Brian Long and Brent Yetter are like brothers then I met Marc Glass and saw potential in him and he is a local player and then me and Jeffrey Ogerro where talking and he always got my back, so I put him on my team and we were back at four.

Mera: Can you explain the history of Team hunger Force?

Evans: We started in 2005 with Roy St. Clair, Brian Long, and I at Nationals. Then Roy got banned, then we headed towards Sjc Indy 2005. Roy talked to Charski and got unbanned. We both play in the PC for VS and Brian Long scrubbed then we were at full form and added Brent Yetter and we took Sjc Boston 2005 and that's how we started.

Mera: What does you're team hope to accomplish in this game?

Evans: We don't settle for anything anymore. We work hard and get into the thick of things and try to attend as much events as possible.

Mera: Can you tell me you're current Hunger Force roster?

Evans: Brian Long, Carlos Santiago, Chris Evans, Jeff Jones, Jeffrey Ogerrao, Marc Glass, and Phillip Anthony.

Mera: What do you plan to accomplish in this game?

Evans: I honestly feel that I have done a lot, but might not be well recognized. I have accomplished a lot personally. I Have met a lot of great people and became somewhat recognized. I seen a lot of places and I make a lot of money. I got one top eight with a Sjc card getting a third place finish. I'm happy, but on the other hand, I don't like to settle so I'm looking to top eight again and soon.

Mera: What do you think about you're team mate Marc Glass?

Evans: I think he is a great player and is only going to get better. He has great potential, and I'm sad that we will see less of him because he is moving. He has great drive and is constantly learning.

Mera: Where is Marc Glass moving to and why?

Evans: He is moving to Arizona for the army because they are repositioning for more training.

Mera: Who do you think is the best team?

Evans: Honestly I got to give it to my boys Over Dose there credentials are almost untouchable but were trying to get up there. Sadly Hunger Force wont be anymore after 2007.

Mera: Why won't Hunger Force be together anymore after 2007?

Evans: Glass can't play as much because he will be back in the army. I'm going to college,
so I'm cutting back. Brian Long has Varsity Basketball, but we won't be completely gone. We just won't attend as much events as we do now.

Mera: Has this game changed you in any way?

Evans: I've became more independent. I make better decisions. I think more about things and I developed better trust in friends.

What do you do outside of Yu-Gi-Oh?

Evans: I play basketball for my school. I work with pewee football players. I work at American Eagle and like to party a lot.

Mera: What's you're favorite sport basketball, baseball, or football?

Evans: Football, because its the biggest team sport each position rely on another.

Mera: Who is you're favorite Yu-Gi-Oh player?

Evans: Bryan Cornel, he was the coolest Yu-Gi-Oh player from the start. When I met him before he became very good. We met at a regional then, and I ending up quiting for a while and came back to 2005 Nationals and he top eighted which was crazy fun.

Mera: What was you're best Sjc experience?

Evans: Atlanta Sjc was great for me, but 2007 Orlando Sjc was fun for me, because Fili Luna, Andrew Novao, and I partied hard after I won the crush card. Orlando was my greatest jump ever.

Mera: That's great, how much did you sell you're crush card for?

Evans: I sold it for 1,500 dollars.

Mera: Why so Little?

Evans: When I got it, I put it on eBay twice and it went for 800 dollars twice. Then someone offered me 1,500 dollars for it and I immediately said "yes."

Mera: That sucks that you didn't get much for it.

Evans: I thought it was good, but I guess not because it was less than I put into the trip.

Mera: What happen at Sjc Montreal?

Evans: Well the three people that went which were Marc Glass, Brain Long, and I didn't put anyone in t16 this time. We will be at full force in philly. Canada was great, there was a V.I.P room for Yu-Gi-Oh players in my hotel. Ontario played Quebec. Quebec won big up, because of james. Plus they didn't card me at the bar.

Mera: What are you're plans for Sjc Philly?

Evans: Things are getting crazy with the new set. Jeff Jones and Brain Long are working on a great deck and I really want to win Sjc Philly.

Mera: I have plans for Sjc Philly too. So do you want to say anything else before we end this interview?

Evans: I've made some great freinds in Yu-Gi-Oh. Shout outs to my canadians, Overdose, and Chris from Comic Odessy, which i hope to see when he is unbanned. Hungerforce Ftw.
