Continuous Draw OTK?

-By: Zell

School is nearing to an end of the year, and after a plethora of homework and writing articles for my school newspaper I return to you all, the adoring fans of Pojo. However, I must confess that I debated with myself on whether or not to return to Pojo. During my absence I had heard rumors that Pojo has gone into the slums. The management had been allowing newbies, so to speak, to write articles. And while that may be true, and I will not give-up those names I was told about, I thought to myself, “If that's the case, than I better do my darnedest to try and bring Pojo back to a tier 1 Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan website.”

And so here I am, sitting in-front of my computer screen typing, which happens to be what I like to do.

So let me begin my new line of articles, “The Forbidden Deck-Types, “ (Sounds formidable does it not?) with a ground breaking burn deck that Jesse Twohig, SJC Indianapolis Top 8 Finalist, informed me of not too long ago.

The deck centers around a legal way to nearly draw out your entire deck with Royal Magical Library. It's initially a three card combo, but will require you to have two spell cards in your hand (not hard since over 80% of the deck is spell cards depending on how you want to build the deck).

Key Cards: Inferno Reckless Summon, Royal Magical Library, Marauding Captain, +2x Any Spell Card.

It's a bit complicated but here's how you play this combo out. First you normal summon Marauding Captain, then you special summon Royal Magical Library and chain Inferno Reckless Summon (note – this gives the Royal Magical Library one counter). Special summon the other two copies. Next play two of any spell card (burn cards usually, like Tremendous Fire). The first RML (Royal Magical Library) now has three counters, the other two now of two counters. Draw one card (probably a spell card). Play it, now one RML has one counter, the other two have three. Draw two cards (probably two spell cards), play them. Now one RML has three counters, the other two have two counters. Continue doing this until you can no longer do it or you win (via all the burn cards the deck runs).

Support Cards: 3x Reload, 3x Magical Mallet, 2x Reinforcement of the Army, at least 12-15x Spell Cards devoted to burning Life Points.

These support cards are for getting a better hand (The Reload's, Magical Mallet's and the Graceful Charity and Card Destruction that are near staples in any OTK), thinning the deck of monsters and getting your combo out faster  (Reinforcement of the Army) and then the LP burn cards.

Throw-In Cards: Magical Explosion, Ojama Trio and stall cards.

These are optional, however, Twohig used Magical Explosion, which is really nice because by the time you get to this card you'll most likely have no hand and 10-20 spell cards in the graveyard for an easy 2000-4000 damage that should be game. I'd also say that Ojama Trio is nice it can simple lock your opponents field down, give you the conditions for Inferno Reckless Summon and can also provide the extra damage needed for game if you hit them with a Marauding and deal 300 damage. The stall is nice, just in-case you pull into a monster or one of the trap cards because you can nearly assure that you'll be safe for a turn and can maybe pull out a win next turn.

In a slow-tempo/passing a lot metagame this deck can achieve victory just by sitting and waiting out a turn or two with stall until you get the proper cards to continue the combo. I'd also like to note: Expect to take battle damage early on, let your opponent hit you a few so that you meet the conditions of Inferno Reckless Summon.

Have a killer deck idea/combo and want me to review it (not a deck), than just email me at Darkfirestatr@aol.com. Title the top, “The Forbidden Deck-Types Idea Submission.” And don't forget to tell me who you are so that I can give you proper credit.
