Zell's Deck of the Week
Silent Swordsman

Pojo Note:  Deck review sent for me to post before the new April 1st Banned/Restricted List hit the streets.  ;-)

02.25.05 - Alright, this is my personal deck list. The reason why I didn't pick someone's is that I haven't seen many that unique. 80% of them used Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, and the remaining were Either Magical Scientist, or some other theme I received tons of times already. Oh, and by the way, I only except Advanced Format decks. This deck cannot be used yet, but soon will be allowed. Keep in mind, I haven't thought of using the new rumored ban list that you can find Here.

Finally, the completion of a line of LV monsters is completed! Whom am I talking about? Well, of course, the Silent Swordsman family. Many people see this monster as being inferior to the great power of Horus. When, there you are wrong. This monster surpasses Horus' power. Here are the reasons why :

-Silent Swordsman LV 3 has 1000/1000 stats.
-Light Monster
-Warrior
Now, why are these good? Well here's why. Silent Swordsman LV 3 is weak with 1000/1000 and he is a Light Monster, and a Warrior monster. So, he's search able by Reinforcements of the Army, and by Shining Angel. Which makes him extremely easy to obtain on the field.

Now, onto the deck :

[Monsters] (15)
[1] Silent Swordsman LV 7
[2] Silent Swordsman LV 5

[3] Shining Angel
[3] D.D. Warrior Lady
[3] Thunder Nyan Nyan
[3] Silent Swordsman LV 3

[Spells] (11)
[1] Pot of Greed
[1] Snatch Steal
[1] Lightning Vortex
[1] Change of Heart
[1] Mystical Space Typhoon
[1] Swords of Revealing Light
[1] Reinforcement of the Army

[2] Level Up!
[2] Monster Reincarnation

[Traps] (14)
[2] Waboku
[2] Magic Drain
[2] Divine Wrath
[2] Sakuretsu Armor

[3] Meteorain
[3] Royal Command

[Side-Deck] (15)
[1] Jinzo
[1] Level Up!
[1] Heavy Storm
[1] Sakuretsu Armor
[2] Windstorm of Etaqua
[3] Ojama Trio
[3] Bottomless Trap Hole
[3] Seven Tools of the Bandit

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "Silent Swordsman LV5". As long as this card remains face-up on your side of the the field, negate the effect of all Spell Cards on the field.

FET-JP008
Silent Swordsman LV5

This card are not affect by effect of opponent's Magic card. When this card successfully direct attack your opponent's lifepoints, during your next standby phase, put this face-up card to Graveyard to special summon a [Silent Swordsman LV7] from your hand or deck. Ultra Rare/Ultimate Rare

----------------------------------------
Now I know 15:11:14 usually sucks for a deck, but this deck uses it to its advantage. Here's how :

Silent Swordsman LV 7 negates spells, so I only used 11 spells. And, since he negates spells, I needed to replace the spells with traps, that can counter most weaknesses. This is why there are 14 traps and only a ll spells.

Alright, let's go to the combo's :

Meteorain + Royal Command + Silent Swordsman LV 5 - This combo is used to get out Mystic Swordsman LV 7 much faster then relying on Level Up!, or risking to hit a Cyber Jar when attacking. First you Activate Meteorain, so you can deal damage to face down defense monsters, then you activate Royal Command, negating flip effects. Next, you attack with Silent Swordsman LV 5 and deal damage. All you have to do now is protect him for your opponents next turn, and then you'll get out Silent Swordsman LV7.

Meteorain + Ojama Trio+ Any Monster - Similar to above. If you are using your side-deck this is why I included Ojama Trio. You give your opponent three tokens in Defense mode, then you activate Meteorain. Then attack the three with up to three monsters, dealing their total attack power to your opponents LP. This is perfect with Two Thunder Nyan Nyan's and a Silent Swordsman LV7. 8000 - 2800 - 1900 - 1900 = 1400 LP remaining. And if you already used the combo above, most likely game.

Shining Angel + Waboku - Alright, here's how the combo works. Have your opponent kill Shining Angel, then summon Silent Swordsman LV3. Now, next time your opponent attacks, activate Waboku. This can also work by rammking Shining Angel into a strong monster.

Those are the main three combies. Silent, but deadly. Now, the main reason for all the traps, as mentioned above, is for countering reasons. Wabokue and Sakuretsu Armor are for protecting Silent Swordsman LV 3 on your opponents turn. Magic Drain is to prevent magic cards from being played until Silent Swordsman LV7 is summoned. Divine Wrath is for countering Tribe-Infecting Virus, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, and any potentially deadly monster with a trigger effect. Royal Command if for preventing flip effects. Trap Jammer is for preventing Traps. And Bottomless Trap Hole is for preventing strong monsters.

Now, you may be saying to yourself, if Jinzo is summoned you're screwed. True, but all I have to do is summoned Silent Swordsman LV 7 and now my opponents screwed. I have a bit off stall in the Spell section, just for that. Or, just use a D. D. Warrior Lady.

If you would like to submit your deck for Deck of the Week send it to DaRkFiReStAtR@aol.com, the Subject line should read : ' Deck of the Week! ' , Include your name, a description of how your deck runs and the strategies it has, and of coarse your Deck list.
