Zell's Deck of the Week
01.26.05 "Ah Ah Ah Ah Stayin' Alive, Stayin' Alive, Ah Ah Ah Ah Stayin' Alive, Stayin' Alive," Oh, woops, got caught up in the past there for a second. It seems that this weeks Deck of the Week is also stuck there.
Ever since Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End was band, these little buggers phased out of existence. But now they're back, and meaner then ever, woops again with the flashbacks to the 1970's, 19 years before I was born. Even in today's metagame, the removal from the Graveyard is essential in Earth Beatdowns and Warrior Chaos.
Well, on with this Deck of the Week, which also happens to be quite a treat for everyone :
I do the best I can to get my gravekeeper action going with a valley out and pummel whatever the opponent has.
1 Gravekeeper’s Chief
3 Gravekeeper’s Spear Soldier
3 Rite of Spirit
All right, at first glance nother special right? Well, again that's at first glance. I'm aiming for a more in-depth look.
First let's take a look at the staple cards:
Gravekeeper's Chief - The first of Many obvious cards, He allows you to revive even with NevroValley active!
Gravekeeper’s Spear Soldier - And continuing the obvious staples, this monster has built in Fariy's Meteor Crush and when NecroValley is active, he becomes a 2000 attacking monster.
Gravekeeper’s Assailant - This card is the perfect Anti-Beserk and Anti-Jinzo card out there! He is also good to trample the ever so often seen Scape Goats.
Gravekeeper’s Spy - This card is the ultimate search bard for GraveKeeper's, since he doesn't have to be destroyed first, and just flipped.
Necrovalley - And finally, the last staple, Necrovalley. This card is the overall best Anti-Chaos and Anti-Earth card out there.
Now let's take a look at the few combo's there happens to be :
Mobius the Frost Monarch + Cold Wave - This combo is pretty simple, activate Cold Wave, then Summon Mobius the Frost Monarch to destroy up to two of your opponents spell/trap cards while they cannot activate them.
Breaker the Magical Warrior + Cold Wave - This is practically the same as the previous, except for the fact that Breaker the Magical Warrior is not a sacrifice, and can only destroy 1 spell/trap.
Gravekeeper’s Spy + Necrovalley + Any Gravekeeper with 1500 or less strength - Pretty easy, but effective strategy. Flip Gravekeeper's Spy with Necrovalley on the field and bring out a monster like Gravekeeper’s Spear Soldier, now you have a 2000 attack monster with built in Fairy's Meteor Crush on the field!
On to the review:
Originality: This deck used to see a lot of play, but now it rarely does. So, this deck receives a 7/10 in Originality!
Playability: This deck is, even to this day, extremely playable in the current Metagame. So, I have decided to give this deck an 8/10 in Playability!
Top Decking: Top Decking may be bad with this deck, with the 2 Terraformings, and many cards that won't work completely with the Strategy. So, 6/10 in Top Decking!
Overall: Overall this deck gets a 70%. Congratulations GraveWave!
