Road to the WCQ #6: Wrap-up
June 21, 2012

So, this is it, the last article in my series on the "Road the the World Championship Qualifier."  Hopefully everyone has been able to take something back from the esries as a whole, and, if I'm really lucky, something from each individual article.  Today, I'm gonna lay out what I believe to be the best summary of all the various articles and just try to get people as much information, in as few words, as possible (crazy for me, eh?).

What decks should I expect?

Top 10 decks (not necessarily in this order
1. Chaos Dragons
2. Dino Rabbit
3. Inzektors
4. Wind-Ups
5. Heroes
6. Samurai
7. Darkworld
8. Antimeta Variants
9. Gravekeepers
10. Final Countdown

What should I bring?

Minimum
Deck
Pen and Paper
Dice
Required Money
Transportation

You also SHOULD have
Change of Clothes
Common Toiletries
Emergency Money
Proper Lodging

It would be NICE to have
A Cell Phone
Trade Stuff
Messin' Around Money

What are some good side-deck cards for this year's WCQ?

Top 10 sidedeck cards (in no particular order)
1. Effect Veiler
2. Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror
3. Macro Cosmos
4. D. D. Crow
5. Skill Drain
7. Jinzo
8. Cyber Dragon
9. Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo
10. Thunder King Rai-Oh

What should I be playing?

I currently have narrowed down what I want to play to about 5 different decks, though I am obviously biased

1. Dino-Rabbits
2. Chaos dragons
3. Empty Jar
4. Wind-Ups
5. Gallis Agents

I know that two of the above seem out of place, but I generally have strange builds of stuff.  If the meta is what I think it will be, then they will do well, but, if I'm wrong, the decks will crash and burn.  It's sortof a coin-flip.

Where is the WCQ?

I'm pretty sure most people know by now that the WCQ is in Columbus, OH this year at the Greater Convention Center, if they have read 6 articles about the (assuming if one is reading article #6, they read the first 5).

What else is there to do?

If you scrub, or have friends coming that didn't qualify and can't get in on an LCQ, then some of the other attractions are

1.Side Events, including
-ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!
-Win a Mat
-2013 Regional Qualifiers
-Win a Box
-Battle Pack: Epic Dawn sealed play
2.Token/COSSY ID card generator
-They take your picture, and turn it into a token or a COSSY id card!
3. Walk around downtown
4. Visit Ohio in general
5. Trade
6. Meet online friends*
7. Get stuff signed***
8. Have a getaway with friends

There is plenty of stuff to do other than just play in the main event, you just have to look around.

If anyone does want to try to meet up, I would love to meet anyone.  If you aren't going to be there, and just wanna talk about stuff or find out more about the event and Yu-Gi-Oh! in general, feel free to contact me on any of the various social media website
