TheMcShakeAlchemist on Yu-Gi-Oh!

The playable cards of 2010, at the time and in retrospect (Part 3)
January 24, 2011

Hey everyone! The McShake Alchemist here getting closer and closer to the end of my series "The playable cards of 2010, at the time and in retrospect". I know, most people are probly thinking something along the lines of "THANK GOD". I promise there are some people who actually like this stuff haha. Getting back on topic, though, today I am going to be discussing hidden arsenal two. I haven't looked at the list of the set yet, but thus far, I cannot think of that many playable cards off the top of my head. Let's see how this goes

List of playable cards in Hidden Arsenal II
1. Flamvell Baby
2. Naturia Beast
3. Fabled Grimro
4. Fabled Kushano
5. Fabled Valkyrus
6.*

Ok, for sure, this won't be a long article.

1. Flamvell Baby
At the time that this set came out, Flamvells had really lost the little popularity that they had gained, not because of this card, but overall just because the hype around the deck had fallen. Nowadays, I'm actually starting to see this get used as a 1-of in the flamvell deck for a toolbox-y feel in case the deck wants to go MP2 Catastor. Not gonna lie though, I really don't complain about drawing this guy, it's cool getting over Cyber Dragon with Firedog.

2. Naturia Beast
When the set first came out this guy was considered a bit too restrictive as far as special summoning it outside of X-sabers. Now, we have a decent amount of Naturia support and people have realized the power of this guy. He sits pretty around the 20$ range and is crazy good if you have the ability to sync for him. I don't know how much to really say about this guy without just repeating the phrase "Fills my graveyard and negates __________" Picture the blank space being like a Madlib, and it says "any spell card that your opponent might draw"

3. Fabled Grimro
When the set first came out this card wasn't really worth that much because it only had a couple of somewhat useless targets, and later people starting hearing about the Japanese version of the deck and it shot up to 10$, and then it went down a lot, and even now, with more Fabled stuff out, only sits around 6$.

4. Fabled Kushano
When the set came out no one really looked at this card, but later, when people really started working on fabled decks, this guy started to shine. It's pretty crazy some of the stack tricks you can do with this guy and other effect interactions.

5. Fabled Valkyrus
*See Fabled Grimro and alter prices*

6.*

I'm not going to really do a top list of cards for this because there were only 5 cards that were playable and I feel that three of them should just be grouped together anyway since theyre pretty grouped together for the same deck. To be 100% honest I wish that they would stop doing Hidden Arsenal sets and do more Gold Series or something similiar. I like little fillers and stuff for sets like Genex Controller/Undine in ABPF and think it's cool for them to continue in little ways like that, or even make it something like Naturia or Scraps, but, it really would be great if they could put more than 5 playable cards in an all holo set. The all holo-ness generally marks up the price of the pack to 5-6$ at shops**, and then there's only one actually worth it card in the set***. Excuse my french, but Fuck that****. I'll continue next with duelist revolution.

My girlfriend is going to start making hand drawn playmts, she'll take requests or make her own to sell as well, if you are interested just send her a message on her deviantart. For references to her art style look on there and her only playmat that there is a picture of online is on my facebook under Mobile Uploads.

*I refuse to call Dewloren a playable card
**I travel a decent amount for this game, and while not all shops are guilty of this, because there are parents who just view it as an all holo pack, and a good deal because of it, shop owners know they can scam them into paying 6$ for a bunch of crappy genex cards.
***I really do like casual decks, I usually have at least 1 built at a time, but seriously, am I the only one who feels we shouldn't have almost entire casual sets? There aren't entire competitive sets right?
****I know that neither of those words are french.
