ROID RAMPAGE
November 1, 2006

ROID RAMPAGE

"No flying machine will ever fly from New York to Paris. "

 Orville Wright

Sometimes the best of us fail to see beyond the norm.  Many of us try day in and day out to expand our horizon but often come back to the same idea.  It is easy for us to stay in our comfort zones, it is simpler to ignore tribulation, and allowing others to figure something out keeps us from being inconvenienced.  Those of us on the verge of revolutionary breakthroughs may find that the idea is not sufficiently tested and even give up on ourselves.  But in the end those of us willing to cast out and break the constraints of acceptation may find rewarding results.

POTD offered us one of the best theme support cards ever made, SUPERCHARGE.  ROIDS have gradually worked their way into my heart due to their numerous interesting effects.  Gyroid with his ability to force overextensions, Steamroid rolling over Cyber Dragons, Jetroid with his ability to make in hand traps threats (thus shutting down dedicated OTK stein builds), Drillroid for making a defense position monster and easy plus one, Submarineroid for his little hit and runs, and who among us has not fallen head over heals for Jumbo Drill?  Roids offer a wide range of effects with the uncanny ability to make both the deck and graveyard into tools.  With this in mind I present to you...

The optimal first turn move involves setting a Gyroid along with bottomless trap hole and Supercharge.  The ability to draw 2 cards from a simple attack declaration adds speed to this deck.  Cards like Future Fusion and Overload Fusion give us access to a wide range of fusion monsters that make for dramatic come from behind victories.  I often find myself winning games due to a massive Overdragon hitting the field.

I would warn all who attempt to improve upon this deck to side into more monster removal.  Battle Searchers like Apprentice Magician will hate being in defense mode due to Triple Drillroid.  But if by some chance an opponent establishes an early game lead through a monarch you will have issues.  Thus I advise you play fast and aggressive.  Hold nothing back.  My current side deck for this includes 2x Royal Decree, 2x Exiled Force, United We Stand, 2x Enemy Controller, and 2x Cyber Stein.  I love hitting opponents with Cyber Stein for game :P  (Makes me feel better for all the games it has cost me) the reason for such a drastic change is simply that it works.  A wins a win and if you can steal one great.  If you get below stein range simply dump them for Overdragon.   Either way your going to get a use out of them.

Royal Decree prevents us from utilizing Supercharge thus I advise you side deck them out.  My Body as a Shield is another option if your interested in keeping Supercharge in the deck.

If your looking for something new and fun I advise you give ROID RAMPAGE a try.

In the following weeks I will be writing articles on the following...

1) The New Cookie Cutter

2) An E-Hero Deck

3) Dinosaur Deck

(currently taking suggestions)

4) Dragons and Five-Headed Dragon

(currently taking suggestions)

If you anyone needs help or has a crazy deck idea I can be contacted at Tebezu@gmail.com
