Card Creations:
Revolution of Nature

May 5, 2006

Hello, everyone, and welcome back to my second article on Card Creations.
I’ve got a whole lot of e-mails from people who wanted to submit their own cards. I like that. There were also some e-mails of people who told me that some cards in my previous package were too strong. I dont fully agree with that. Most of the cards were only playable in a Thunder Deck, which is good. IF they would be released, then Thunder Decks would see a lot more play because they now actually have good cards. There also was an e-mail of someone who said that the cards sucked and that there already existed cards that did a way better job. Like Newdoria, who would be superior to Paralyzing Soldier, since Newdoria actually destroys a monster. But, Paralyzing Soldier has some pros over Newdoria, thanks to its fairly high DEF (1700), which means that even if a used Breaker attacked him, that Breaker would be unable to attack or change its battle position, while Newdoria would’ve been destroyed itself. It’s true that Breaker would’ve been destroyed as well, but the fact is: Your Paralyzing Soldier remains on the field and Breaker can’t switch to Defense Position so that you can take him out with a stronger Thunder Type Monster.

Anyway, I did my best to make this package balanced, so I hope it worked. Also, because a lot of people sent me a lot of cards, I wasn’t able to put all cards I received in this package, so please understand that.

Let’s start with the actual package now.

This package looks quite balanced. Both Plant and Dinosaur Cards got an even amount of support and the creators of some of those cards put some serious thought in them. The Raptor Tokens, made up by Jonathan Caez, were made because Dinosaurs always lived in groups. Summoning a lot of Tokens represents the group of the Dinosaurs: They’re never alone. Also, Plants got their own Seed Tokens. Plants grow fast and in almost every place, so that’s why Seed Tokens were used: To represent the group of plants that grows everywhere. This package also contains cards that support other deckthemes, like Life Point Gain Decks (thanks to ‘The End’), Dark Scorpion Decks (‘Dark Scorpion Hideout’) and Tribute Decks (‘Sacrifice of Good Will’ and the like). Some cards might still be a bit too overpowered, but the readers and I tried to make the cards as balanced as possible by giving them small drawbacks.
There is one thing that you should know: Sometimes, when you send in a card, I might change the effect a bit, just to make the card a bit more balanced. Otherwise, cards would sometimes be too powerful. I only do this when extremely necessary. I also change texts if they aren’t written down as they’re supposed to be. For example: I replace ‘attack points’ with ‘ATK’ or ‘ATK points’.
Well, that’s all on this package. Time to write down the ones that helped me creating this package:

-- Next Time: Reign of Chaos --

Reign of Chaos offers you new and balanced Chaos Cards and changes your view of the Different Dimension completely. Prepare yourself for the second...Invasion of Chaos!

(*)Please don’t start shouting right away you read my idea for the next package. That package will contain Chaos Monsters, but I’m trying to make them more balanced. Imagine: If Chaos Sorcerer would become restricted, then Chaos Decks can finally become what they were supposed to be.
The other cards that will appear in that package are cards that focus on the Removed from Play zone (also known as the RFG zone). So, if you’re planning on sending me cards, please follow these guidelines. Of course, other cards are allowed as well, but the main part of the package will contain carsd that focus on these two themes: Chaos and RFG.

Well, that does it for this article. All of your own card ideas, comments, reactions or anything else can be sent to ShineSoldier@gmail.com

(**) Another final note: I’m not quite sure about how many articles on Card Creations I’m going to write in what time, but don’t expect to see two of them every single week, like this time. My main goal on this site is still to show you unknown deckthemes and cards, so you can expect a Deck Analysis Article popping up Monday and maybe one on Tuesday as well. The Reign of Chaos booster will be finished at the end of the next week, or maybe even later. Card Analysis isn’t gonna stop either, so those articles can be expected as well.

(***) The final final note: Please remember that if you want your name to appear in the article next to the card(s) you made up, you have to say it in your mail. If you just say: ‘Hey, I’m (fill in name here)’, then I don’t know wether I have to put that name in the article or not. So, if you want your name to appear, please say it like this: ‘Hey, my name is (fill in name here). If you’re going to post any of my cards, use (fill in name here) as my name.’

‘Til next time,
~ShineSoldier~
