Last Solution:

1.      Tribute Summon Kaiser Glider by offering Sangan as a Tribute. Use Sangan’s effect to add Marauding  Captain to your hand.
2.      Activate The Warrior Returning Alive. Return Mystic Swordsman LV4 to your hand.
3.      Pay 500 Life Points to use the effect of Ultimate Offering to Normal Summon Marauding Captain. Use Marauding Captain’s effect to Special Summon Mystic Swordsman LV4 in Attack Position (your LP now 1600).
4.      Activate Destruction Ring, targeting Kaiser Glider. Use Kaiser Glider’s effect to return Ultimate Baseball Kid to your opponent’s hand (your LP now 600 and his LP now 3800).
5.      Activate Exchange. Your opponent will select Twin Swords of Flashing Light – Tryce. You select Ultimate Baseball Kid.
6.      Pay 500 Life Points to use the effect of Ultimate Offering to Normal Summon Ultimate Baseball Kid (your LP now 100).
7.      Attack Blazing Inpachi with Ultimate Baseball Kid to do 1650 damage (his LP now 2150).
8.      Attack Night Assailant with Mystic Swordsman LV4, using his effect to destroy Night Assailant immediately.
9.      Attack directly with Marauding Captain to do 1200 damage (his LP now 950).
10.  Send Marauding Captain and Mystic Swordsman LV4 to your Graveyard to inflict 1000 points of direct damage to your opponent’s Life Points.

Final Result: Him – (-50), You – 100 


Problem – Win the Game in One Turn:

            You can’t really get a more stereotypical puzzle then this. It contains Ultimate Offering, Magician of Faith, Sangan, Double Spell, Book of Moon, a very large hand, monsters Set when your opponent has monsters in Attack Position, and an excessive number of Tribute monsters. It’s about as realistic as a Star Wars film, but strangely you lot seem to like it. Anyway, they demonstrate some of the more obscure rulings of the game. This is because thinking of genuinely clever maneuvers is ruddy hard. However, you lot seem to like them, so enjoy!

This is a puzzle saved by my error checker, ExMinion of Darkness. He pointed out a rather silly assumption of mine. I haven’t mentioned it as I want to see how many other people never noticed, but if you don’t want to get this wrong on a technicality, I recommend that you look at the card rulings under ‘I’. Also, a summary of some of the things learned I these articles is at the bottom of the page.

What Have We Learned?

  1. Double Spell does not place a Spell Card from your opponent’s Graveyard into your hand. It activates it from the Graveyard. This is not a proper activation, and so doesn’t give Spell Counters. The card never reaches the field unless it is continuous.
  2. Ultimate Offering can only be used during your Main Phase 1, Main Phase 2, and your opponent’s Battle Phase.
  3. Jinzo negates traps, even if you forget that he is there.
  4. “When this card is Tribute Summoned” means the effect triggers after the monster has been summoned, before your opponent can do anything in response. The monster disappearing does not negate the effect (normally). It does not trigger when summoned in any way other than a Tribute Summon.
  5. Once Set, Quick-Play Spell cards are treated as Traps. Hence, keep your Quick-Play Spell cards in your hand until you are ready to end your turn. Then Set them. Then you can use them once your opponent starts his turn.
