Making the Best of the Joey Starter Deck
May 8, 2006

Hey, I'm PlaydohDude. I've written a couple of tips for the last 3 months or so, have been posting a bit on the message boards, review Pokemon every week on the pokemon page, and wanted to become a featured writer. I'm kind of ashamed of this, but right now the only deck I play is an E-Hero one, and it's pretty bad. I've been working on a fun Ojama deck lately though, and I was getting started on making Fire Princess. So, here I am. I'll try to get 1 article a week, at least. Well, this is my first article, so excuse me from any bad spelling newb-ish things, or other stuff.

The Joey Starter deck is usually known as the worst Starter Deck. I disagree. It actually has some good to learn factors that Yugi , Pegasus, and Kaiba SD's don't have. For example, fusion monsters.

Now, with the right cards and the needed skill, the Joey Starter deck can be pretty useful. It was the first deck I had. So, let's get started.

Some of the best cards the Joey starter deck has to offer are Sangan and Red Eyes B. Dragon.. I'll explain my choices right now. Sangan is a good searcher. It allows new players to learn that , even if monsters have low attack, they can be useful. 1500 doesn't seem like a lot of attack points, but it's usually used to get out powerful effect monsters. Now on to the big shocker, Red Eyes. I'm not saying Red Eyes is good, but it teaches a good lesson. If the player is older and can easily tell how powerful a card is, it teaches that player that strength does not rely on rarity. But if they are a kid, it allows them to have a special, favorite card. I remember Red Eyes was my best card at first. I didn't care for Dark Magician. I just liked Red Eyes. If a kid has a card they like to use, that can lead to some cool decks. I'm not sure if anyone plays a Red Eyes deck, but that will make it even more fun in playing!

There are many players who are anti-fusion. Here's a tip. Either focus on the Fusion aspect, or cut it out all together. Same with any other theme you see running through.

   Well, that's it for today.

You guys keep on rollin',

PlaydohDude
