Subject: Metal Raiders Preview: Barrel Dragon Deck
Hello.  I'm back for the second installment of the Metal Raiders preview.  Today we're going to look at the Barrel Dragon (Japanese: Revolver Dragon).  This card has a very interesting effect that we will look at in a little bit.

(Once again, thank Edo for translations!)

The main card in this deck is, of course, the Barrel Dragon.  Its ability allows you to flip 3 coins once a turn, and if at least two are heads, you can destroy any monster on the field.  This gives you roughly a 50/50 chance of destroying an opposing monster.  That's not bad at all, considering you can destroy a second monster with Barrel Dragon's 2600 attack power.  I would say 2600 attack and the nifty ability are worth 2 sacrifices (it's Level 7).

Dark Elf is a new hard-hitter for the popular F/S decks.  She is Level 4 with 2000/800 stats.  The downside?  You have to pay 1000 LP to attack.  Notice it's "to attack".  If an opponent attacks the Dark Elf, (to the best of my knowledge) the 1000 LP is not required to launch a counterattack, as you do not have to announce an attack.  What does this mean?  Stick it out on the field in attack mode, and you have a 2000 stat wall.  And you can always throw in Dian Keto if you feel you need the 1000 LP back.  We won't worry about that, though, as Dark Elf is not the basis for this deck...

The main purpose of this deck is monster removal.  We have tons of monster removal in this deck, including the Barrel Dragon, the focus of the deck.  If you feel this deck is slightly lacking in power (Barrel Dragon, attack wise, is weaker than BEWD and Tri-Horned), we can sideboard some more power:

Side Deck: (15)
Blue-Eyes White Dragon
Blue-Eyes White Dragon
Summoned Skull
Neo the Magic Swordsman
Neo the Magic Swordsman
Sword of Dark Destruction
Sword of Dark Destruction
Soul Exchange
Soul Exchange
Reinforcements
Reinforcements
Card Destruction
Sangan
Dark Elf
La Jinn the Mystical Genie

Since we have enough monster removal, the negative effect of Soul Exchange is not felt as much.  We throw in Sangan to search for Magician of Faith and Man-Eater Bug, and another Dark Elf and La Jinn for more brute force.

Thanks for tuning in to the second installment of my Metal Raiders preview.  I currently do not have a third preview deck ready, but I may be able to throw one together.  As always, send any comments to NickWhiz1@buckeye-express.com.

Just a couple more weeks!
