Well I’m slightly disappointed in myself because this article and four others were supposed to be put up last week but because I’ve recently been chosen for the lead in a school play I’ve been at school for the majority of the time and to top it off I had my birth day on Sunday. But I decided to get at least this article up.

Before I start this article I want to address a few issues I’ve observed lately and go over how I feel about them.

First is the new ban list… I have to say I find it an ok list. I mean compare to YamiBakuraFan’s and mine unrealistic list, which would leave us with not a single 1 for 1 card it was relatively interesting list to rattle the game up. The only thing I think was a bad move was putting Mirror force back in and still allowing 3 Sakuretsu armors in each deck. But what are we going to do.

Next I would like to talk about somewhat of a general lost of interest in the game by many people. Why is this? Because of the usage of CC and suck decks that are made by creative people, can’t make it. People also seem to all want something different from the next set and each time are disgusted with what comes out. Now here is the message I have for everyone, get over it. We all got into this game to have fun, so why do we act like Konami is this tyrannical demonic force bent on the destruction of yugioh. My suggestion is to go to thee message board and check out the Japanese section every so often to see what upcoming sets are and see what you like about the set whether it’s the over all theme or just one card. I’ve done this for every set I get a lot less disappointed. For Shadow of Infinity I couldn’t’ wait to start trying my hand with Malice Ascendant, while for Enemy of Justice I really want the Edo Phoenix cards and start using Devilguy as my ultimate tech-card. Ok I know I ranted there for a while but it was meant o help those who are struggling with the game, but now for the good old character deck.

Lets get going by introducing the most psychotic duelist to ever come around (other then Marik of course) the masked torturer himself… THE DARK MAGICIAN MASTER… PANDORA.

Well unlike the anime the manga did not dress him in a ridiculous clown outfit. Also the manga has nothing about Marik offering him his girlfriend back. What the anime and manga agree about is his awesome deck and strategy. So lets start that list as soon as possible.

Pandora/ Arkana
Dark Magician
Malice Doll of Demise
Mystic Tomato
Ectoplasmer
Tragedy Guillotine
Dark Coffin of Resurrection
Thousand Knives
Monster Reborn
Legion the Fiend Jester
Beckon to the Dark
Nightmare Chains
Devil’s Scale
Dark Magic Curtain
Anti Magic Arrows

Ok not all of those cards are ether made or put into circulation in America. So there are some awesome cards to replace these cards. First off the jester will now be Peten and as for the others… well I’m rating them so sit back read and enjoy the magic of magic.

First of these cards is the way we will replace Pandora’s Dark Magic Curtain and Dark Coffin of Resurrection, Magical Dimension.

Magical Dimension
Magic/QuickPlay

You can only activate this card while there is a face-up Spellcaster-Type monster(s) on your side of the field. Tribute 1 monster on your side of the field and Special Summon 1 Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand. Then you can destroy 1 monster on the field.

Well let’s go over some basics so people know not to go crazy over targeting and such. First off it cannot be activated unless you have a Spellcaster out, this will prevent any activating it just to kill a monster. Also the tribute that occurs is not a payment so if the card is negated you don’t need to sacrifice a monster first. Lastly, the destroying a monster part of its effect is optional and it does not target. With all this information you’ll realize that it’s actually a very good card.
In this deck the card will be meant for the Dark Magician which we’ll be running thereof much like Pandora, we will also need some Spellcasters to sacrifice or else this card becomes useless. So what cards are a Spellcaster and bear the resemblance of Pandora’s deck.
Here’s my List-
Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
Masked Sorcerer
Old Vindictive Magician
Breaker the Magical Warrior
Blast Magician
Summoner of Illusions
Skilled Dark Magician
Rapid Fire Magician

So here are the selected monsters for the deck.
Dark Magician
Skilled Dark Magician
Breaker the Magical Warrior
Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
Old Vindictive Magician
Malice Doll of Demise
Peten the Dark Clown
Mystic Tomato
Newdoria
Sangan

I’ll explain the monsters in a bit but now for the next card, Dark Magic Attack, which will replace Anti Magic Arrows.

Dark Magic Attack
Magic

You can only activate this card while there is a face-up "Dark Magician" on your side of the field. Destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on your opponent's side of the field.

Ok there is only one draw back, if Dark Magician is compulsory evacuated or book of moon when playing this card then the card stops it’s effect in its tracks. Other then that this card is over looked too much. Dragon decks have smashing grounds, Dark Magician has this, and I consider this much better. XD. A Harpies Feather Duster for you as long as Dark Magician is out, is what the card should say. There’s not much else to say but NEXT.

Mystic Box
Magic

Select 1 monster on each side of the field. Destroy the selected opponent's monster and shift control of your selected monster to your opponent.

First of Pandora doesn’t use this but it’s one of the coolest cards that most definitely represents him. Now in most cases this card would be skipped over and quickly… but this card has some use. For one thing it can destroy a monster, which is pretty nice. Of course then it’s replaced by one of your cards, which means you get rid of one of your cards. Now what you do with this card is get rid of your opponent’s monster then give them a tomato, malice doll or Peten. Now when it dies it will replace itself on your field (in malice’s case you’ll need ectoplasmer to do the killing and hope they choose it). It’s an odd technique but it’s one of my favorites to use.

Now for the Deck

Pandora’s Box (April 1st list)
Monsters- 19
Magics- 16
Traps- 5

Call of the Haunted

Nightmare Wheel

Well in the monsters you’ll see a balance of Spellcasters and fiends much like Pandora’s deck. As for the magics, the fissure represents the beckoning from the dark. In the traps, nightmare wheel is the Nightmare Chains. Now for those wondering why I didn’t use Tragedy, which was originally the Guillotine. The answer is that I originally did write a review of the card but after looking at the deck I felt that it didn’t belong in the American form, since it didn’t represent what it once did. As you can see the deck features a few Marik cards, the reason for this is that I feel that every Ghouls deck as a bit of Marik’s influence on it so they should run a few of his cards (you’ll see it in all the others too.)
Well until next time,
Mako ~.+
