ix Samurai Deck
September 5, 2008

This time around, I’m going to discuss a Six Samurai build that I have messed around with. Now, of course you guys are thinking, “ Hey, they’re are dead now that reasoning is at 1!” How wrong you are. In my honest opinion I like the deck better now, because a new support card was also released in Duelist Genesis. Hand Of The Six Samurai has a pretty brutal effect. For those  who do not know, let’s take a look at his effect shall we?

Hand of the Six Samurai
Attrib: Fire
Type: Warrior/Effect
Level:3
Atk: 1600
Def: 1000
While you control another "Six Samurai" monster, you can Tribute 1 "Six Samurai" monster to destroy 1 monster on the field.

Yeah, he is flat out amazing. Before the ban list, you may have had trouble getting rid of monsters if you couldn’t draw a copy of  Zanji. Well now that problem is solved. This bad boy can also nuke face down monsters, so drawing an Irou isn’t a huge deal. But without further delay here is my current build of Six Samurai Control.

Monsters: Seventeen
3Grandmaster of the Six Samurai
3Great Shogun Shien
3Hand of the Six Samurai
2The Six Samurai - Irou
3The Six Samurai - Yaichi
3The Six Samurai - Zanji

Spells: Twelve
3Reinforcement of the Army
3Six Samurai United
1Reasoning
1Enemy Controller
1Smashing Ground
2Book of Moon
1Monster Reborn

Traps: Twelve
2Dark Bribe
1Double Edge Sword Technique
3Rivalry of Warlords
3Solemn Judgment
1Mirror Force
2Bottomless Trap Hole

Now, let’s go over my one tech card in the build, which is Rivalry Of Warlords. For those who do not remember what this does, or is a little fuzzy on it’s effect here it is for you:

Rivalry of Warlords
Group: Trap Card
Type: Trap
Icon:Continuous
Each player sends monsters they control to the Graveyard so that they only control 1 Type of monster. Each player can only control 1 Type of monster.

This card is straight up nasty in my build. This is the reason why I strictly stuck to Warrior type monsters. If you look at all the top tier decks being used right now, none of them are based on just one type of monster. This is where Rivalry can lock your opponent down. Now your opponent cannot go Elemental Hero Prisma then Test Tiger and devastate your board. Or now your opponent cannot not special summon Dark Grepher, and drop Dark Armed Dragons on you. The scenarios are endless. My other tech card is Double Edged Sword Technique. This card is crazy with Hand Of The Six Samurai. Free Food for Hand is pretty good I would say.

The rest of my card choices should be self explanatory. Reinforcement Of The Army @ 3 is also a nice boost for the deck. You can literally call this a toolbox deck now. Meaning a deck using cards that can deal with any situation put at them. You can tinker with the build, and add Kamon or Nisashi, it is really just personal preference and how you play. Well that’s it for me this time around. Hope you enjoyed the article. If you have any deck ideas that you would like me to consider doing an article on, contact me on the message boards, my username is Jeff_Lang.
