OTK Madness on a Stick!

August 20, 2007

If you thought I was crazy before...

Lately I have been chatting with a reader about the different possibilities surrounding a Demise OTK deck. I have figured that the reason Demise is defeated is because of it's lack of a back up plan should Demise be stopped due to Trap Dustshoot or some other shenanigans by your opponents. Fortunately due to Advanced Ritual Art we have several options for building the deck to be more stable should it's star go nuclear prematurely. Here are the 4 decks that I came up with to combat that deficiency.

-Demise/Norleras Destruction Brawler
-Demise/Machine OTK
-Demise/Dragon OTK
-Demise/Rock OTK

I would love to go into detail about each of the separate decks, but the Norleras one has already been covered and I have no idea how to build the middle 2. MegaDranzer from the Pojo forums gave me the idea and template for this deck, so kudos to him.

Rock and Roll...Over Your Opponent!

Here is the deck after I have modified it a bit to suit my needs.

Monsters-22

3x Demise King of Armageddon
3x Megarock Dragon
3x Beta the magnet Warrior
3x Gamma the Magnet Warrior
3x Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands
2x Senju of the Thousand Hands
2x Sonic Bird
1x Sangan
1x Morphing Jar
1x Neo Spacien Grand Mole

Spells-11

3x Advanced Ritual Art
2x Metamorphosis
1x Megamorph
1x Giant Trunade
1x Swords of Revealing Light
1x Premature Burial
1x End of the World/Contract with the Abyss
1x Snatch Steal
1x Dimension Fusion

Traps-7

2x Threatening Roar
1x Magic Cylinder
1x Mirror Force
1x Ring of Destruction
1x Torrential Tribute

Rock Solid Monsters, Literally

Well there it is in all it's glory. I have always wanted to build a deck that used Magnet Warriors to wreak havoc, and I have found it. It is structured very much on my Norleras OTK and the original Demise build. It uses ARA to send magnet warriors  to the graveyard to summon Demise, blow up the field, Special Summon Megarock Dragon and then play Dimension Fusion fr a good solid win. That actually explains all of the card choices. They all fetch Demise, are solid rock cards, or further the theme of OTKing an opponent.

I did add Magic Cylinder because sometimes Demise deck variants have a hard time finishing an opponent. Cylinder and Ring both accomplish that as well as making a player more cautious when they should be reckless in Game 2. This deck is very monster heavy, especially for a Demise deck. You can take out the Sonic Birds in order to put in Magical Merchant, which will help in searching for spell cards.

Surprise!

This is where I love this deck. For game 2 it can side into the traditional Demise OTK. This is especially potent if you win through Megarock Dragon, as they will not expect full blown Demise to be in there. We have seen that sturdy transformation sides have won games on unsuspecting opponents and this will be no different. The counters for Demise will not work so wel on the rock variant as it can function quite nicely without Demise. This is where I think that the Demise variants shine. They can all interconnect with one another to suit how you need to take down an opponent.

The other two variants I mentioned in the beginning can also transform. The Machine deck can switch to machine beatdown. The Dragon version can switch to cyberdarks or Dragon beatdown. This is where I leave it to you, the readers to try these decks out. I am only one man, and can only test out so many decks between working out, eating sleeping and schooling. I am relying on you guys to test out variants and then tell the community about them.
