Force of the Breaker--Cards of Interest
04.03.07

Hello again to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all! Today I come before you with cards of interest from the next upcoming booster, Force of the Breaker.

Disclaimer: These are Japanese card names, and the text is translated.
Text and/or names are subject to change at any time.

That being said, let's go!

FOTB-JP008 Volcanic Devil Ultra Rare
Fire-Pyro
Level 8
3000 atk 1800 def

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by sending 1 face-up "Blaze Cannon - Trident" on your side of the field to the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, your opponent can only designate this card as an attack target and your opponent must attack with all of his/her monsters. When this card destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard, destroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field. Inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each monster destroyed by this effect.

Yes, it is a Nomi monster, but with a couple of nasty effects.

FOTB-JP012 Volcanic Edge Rare
Fire/Pyro
Level 4
1800/1200

Once per turn, you can inflict 500 damage to your opponent. If you activate this effect, this card cannot attack during this turn.

A stronger, yet toned down version of Solar Flare Dragon without the locking ability perhaps?

FOTB-JP013 Volcanic Hammer
Fire/Pyro
Level 5
2400/1500

For each monster with [Volcanic] in its name in your Graveyard, inflict 200 points of damage to the opponent. This effect can only be activated once per turn. If this effect was activated, this card cannot attack this turn.

A decent tribute monster, who can either attack, or burn your opponent each turn.

FOTB-JP014 E-HERO Captain Gold Ultra Rare Light/Warrior Level 4 2100/800

By discarding this card from your hand to the Graveyard, add 1 "Skyscraper" from your Deck to your hand. If there is no "Skyscraper"
on the field, this face-up card on the field is destroyed.

A beatstick for E-Heroes and he isn't terrible. Since Skyscraper must be on the field for this guy to exsist, he could potentially be a Level
4 who has 3100 attack each time you attack.

FOTB-JP015 Gravekeeper's Commander Rare Earth/Spellcaster Level 4 1600/1500

By discarding this card from your hand to the Graveyard, add 1 [Valley of the Resting Kings - Necrovalley] card from your Deck to your hand.

Yeah! I love Gravekeeper's and would love to see them become a Tier 1 deck.

FOTB-JP016 Warrior of Atlantis Rare
Water/Aqua
Level 4
1900/1200
By discarding this card from your hand to the Graveyard, add 1 [Legendary City, Atlantis] card from your Deck to your hand.

Another good card for your A Legendary Ocean deck. 2100 and Level 3 with ALO, or just search it. Definately a nice new water beatstick.

FOTB-JP018 Envoy of Sky Zeradias Rare
Light/Angel
Level 4
2100/800

By discarding this card from your hand to the Graveyard, add 1 [The Sanctuary in the Sky] card from your Deck to your hand. If there is no [The Sanctuary in the Sky] on the field, this face-up card on the field is destroyed.

They are all about the Field Magic cards here, another good choice for Fairy/Sanctuary decks.

FOTB-JP020 Harpy Queen Rare
Wind/Winged-Beast
Level 4
1900/1200

By discarding this card from your hand to the Graveyard, add 1 [Harpy's Hunting Ground] card from your Deck to your hand. This card's name is treated as [Harpy Lady] while it is on the field or in the Graveyard.

A good beatstick and a new Wind Harpie card, but she doesn't seem to be the Queen of anything.

FOTB-JP021 Demon God Enrise Super Rare
Light/Angel
Level 8
2400/1500

This card cannot be Normal Summoned. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing 3 LIGHT Angel-Type monsters and 1 DARK Demon-Type monster from your Graveyard from the game. You can remove a face-up monster on the field from play. If the effect is activated, this card cannot attack during this turn. This effect cam only be activated once per turn.

Wow, a stronger Chaos Sorcerer that needs four specific monster types to be removed to Special Summon. Watch out for this, because people are going to be using it.

FOTB-JP022 Demon God Nohrerath Super Rare Dark/Demon Level 8 2400/1500

This card cannot be Normal Summoned. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing 3 DARK Demon-Type monsters and 1 LIGHT Angel-Type monster from your Graveyard from the game. By paying 1000 Lifepoints send all cards in both players hands and on the field to the Graveyard, afterwards draw 1 card.

Reverse summoning requirements of the previous card. This is the cheaper, non Ritual Demise, or the watered non-burn CED. Plus, you get a card. People will build decks around these two, beware.

FOTB-JP023 Demon God Invishil Super Rare Earth/Angel Level 6 2200/1600

This card cannot be Special Summoned. When this card is Tribute Summoned, it receives it's effect according to the monster that was
tributed:
- LIGHT Angel-Type: If this card is face-up on the field, the effects of Magic Cards are negated.
- DARK Demon-Type: If this card is face-up on the field, the effects of Trap Cards are negated.

FOTB-JP026 Wind Emperor Riser Super Rare Wind/Bird Level 6 2400/1000

When this card is successfully Tribute Summoned, return 1 card on the field to the top of the owner’s deck.

This sounds familiar. Level 6...Super Rare...2400 attack...1000 defense. Don't be surprised if this gets an English name involving "the Wind Monarch"

FOTB-JP037 Iron Axe of Good Fortune Rare Magic - Equipment

Increase the equipped monster's ATK strength by 500. When this card is destroyed by your opponent's card effect while this card is face-up, draw 1 card from your own deck.

Not bad, draw power is good.

FOTB-JP038 Tornado
Instant Magic Card

This card can only be activated when there are 3 or more cards in your opponent's Magic & Trap Card Zone. Destroy 1 card in your opponent's Magic & Trap Card Zone.

Watered down MST, hmm?

FOTB-JP042 Field Barrier
Permanent Magic Card

Field Magic Cards cannot be destroyed. And also, Field Magic Cards cannot be activated. There can only be one of this card to be activated on the field.

For a set that is all about Field Magic cards, this card stops them all. Alas, it is continuous, and only one may be active at a time.

FOTB-JP046 Induced Summon Rare
Normal Trap Card

Activate only when a monster is Special Summoned to your opponent's side of the field. Both players can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from their respective hands.

I like this, a bit restrictive, but I like it.

FOTB-JP050 Demonic Dealings
Normal Trap Card

You can only activate this card when your opponent activates a Magic Card and by paying 1000 Life Points. Your opponent randomly discards one card from his hand.

Interesting, a 1 for 2, in your favor, although you have to pay 1000 lifepoints. However, I'm not sure if this negates the card played, or just forces your opponent to discard. We'll see.

FOTB-JP051 Central Breakthrough
Normal Trap Card

When this card is activated, select 1 face-up monster with [The Six-Warmasters] in its name on your field. During the battle phase when this card is activated, when the selected monster destroys an opponent's monster as a result of battle, monster on your field with the name [Great Shogun Shien] and [The Six-Warmasters] can attack your opponent's lifepoint directly.

An excellent Warmaster card, need I say more?

FOTB-JP055 Flashing Barrier - Shining Force Super Rare Normal Trap

This card can only be activated when there are 3 or more monster cards on your opponent's field in face-Up Attack Position, and when an opponent's monster attacks. Destroy all your opponent's monsters in Attack Position.

A watered Mirror Force, but not terrible. Sickest art on a card in a long time, Super Rare version only, the Ultimate version blows.

Well, that does it for today, and I hope you enjoyed it. I hope you found this helpful and insightful, this seems as though it may be a good set, one of the better ones in a while. Only time will tell.
Please feel free to contact me with anything @ tsearcy@lssu.edu

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)
