Dark Paladin's Yu-Gi-Oh! Dimension
Six more months...(or)...WTF--Konami did something--right?
2.21.07

Hello again to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all! Now that the official Ban List is up and out, I might as well let you know what I think of it. As usual, for the most part, I was completely wrong in about everything I thought or hoped would happen. Luckily, this has happened several times, and it isn't all that much of a problem anymore.

Newly Banned:

Breaker-the Magaical Warrior: Believe it or not, I'm fairly mixed about this. Banning Breaker is a bold move, on accounts of 99% of decks played him. Breaker is an automatic +1 if you destroy something non-chainable, and then you still have a 1600 attack monster. This forces many a duelist to find a new card to use.

Graceful Charity: In short, this sucks, but good if it had something to do with Dark World. SToN has new Dark World support coming out, remember? So, draw with Jar of Greed and Pot of Avarice now.

Last Will: Easy to use, very versatile, and found in many OTK and FTK decks. This one at least makes sense, I don't have any gripe here.

Magician of Faith: Another bold move, but I don't really get this. We don't have many game-breaking Magic cards right now, but we got Snatch Steal back. Though, we lost Graceful, and we still don't have Pot.
Was it necessary, not really.

Victory Dragon: Who cares?? Not powerful enough, not used enough, not a problem.

Newly Restricted:

Chain Strike: Not a bad move, not at all. Used and abused widely, and now its power is limited, and rightly so. This restriction gets my personal stamp of approval.

Crush Card Virus: Powerful, unwieldy, and another excellent move. So far, the Bans were a nightmare, but the Restrictions seem to be intelligent.

Dimension Fusion: Dimension Fusion is another powerful card, but with a steep price. 2000 lifepoints is hefty, and both players can use the effect. I would think that one would be enough to use, despite how popular its become.

E-Hero Stratos: A restricted E-Hero? My God...the new Jump Promo is an excellent card, and this was a good move also. He is quite splashable, and you should expect to be seeing him soon.

Giant Trunade: Good call here, on accounts of the abuse and power it has, especially in OTK and FTK decks. This was another good move.

Mind Crush: In my area anyway, people were generally maining one of these, and siding the other two. It is an annoying card, but whatever.

Neo-Spacian Ground Mole: TWO restricted E-Heroes? Good lord...Anyway, this card is also quite powerful and just as splashable as his restricted counterpart. You will be seeing him as well.

Overload Fusion: HOORAY, I got one. This was the easiest way of summoning Chimera outside of Cyber Stein, which stayed banned.
Excellent move here.

Snatch Steal: Why, just why? Snatch Steal is incredibly powerful and can end games. Tribute for a Monarch, and you can be at a +1 or even
+2. I'm sad here...

Newly Semi-Restricted:

DD Assailant: I got this one too! Everything I said as to why in my
previous article holds true here.

Mask of Darkness: No need to be at one anymore since all the Traps it
functioned so well with are banned or restricted.

Metamorphosis: Gives Morph decks another shot, but it doesn't help
that much, honestly.

Other things worth mentioning:

Injection Fairly Lily @ 3: Powerful, yes, but it doesn't do the player
any good. You still won't want to play more than one, maybe two.
Having too few lifepoints makes her a dead draw.

Exiled Force @ 3: I don't see Warrior Toolbox even running three,
maybe two, and siding a third, but he just isn't worth running in
multiples.

Sacred Phoenix @ 3: No one who plays the deck would run more than
two...probably just the one. You don't want to run THREE Level 8
monsters.

Well, that does it for today, and I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to
e-mail with you comments or anything else @ tsearcy@lssu.edu.

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

~Dark Paladin~
