Dark Paladin's Yu-Gi-Oh! Dimension
Making or breaking Yugioh --
a game on the Rebound
1.22.07

Hello again to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all! Sorry once again for taking so much time between articles but damn...in short, it takes a bit of time to adjust back to things like settling into school and going back to work when you spent four months in boot camp.

You notice the title of the article for today, and I believe it is a fair statement. On a regular basis, people are quitting the game of Yugioh for a variety of reasons. People at Konami and UDE need to realize this if they are to be continue to be successful and rebuild the game of Yugioh and keep their customers interested.

For one, let's talk about boosters. Cyber Dark Impact for one is quite the unremarkable booster. I'm not saying it is useless or crap, but I mean, come on. Remember back in the days when a booster would come out and people would want more than a single card from it? Some people are upset that the majority of the cards released in these booster are G/X anime only cards like E-Hero and/or D-Hero support.

The Structure Decks are still a wonderful idea, and an awesome thing to happen to the Yugioh scene, and they seem to be coming out more frequently. They are always a cool way to introduce long awaited or new cards into the TCG. Furthermore, prize cards like the upcoming long awaited Crush Card are good ways to keep people interested.

Like the release of Five God Dragon and Dragon Master Knight. Granted those are cards that people have wanted for ages, but better late than never, if only for collection purposes, right? Throw us cards like Marshmallon, one I am personally holding out for...a Fairy Structure deck perhaps?

Another important factor and always a touchy topic, the Ban List. As you are aware, the Ban List will once again be changing here in just over a month. This usually angers and frustrates people as my ____________ was banned, now I need to find a new strategy. Sometimes people are so enraged about the changes, they quit the game entirely.

Furthermore, the Ban List needs to be done intelligently and to help the players of the game. Sometimes, it has seemed like all the cards in Yugioh for put into a hat, drawn out, and Banned or Restricted as they were drawn. The Ban List needs to be made to solve problems and eliminate ridiculously over powered cards.

DVDs of the cartoon are also an important factor to consider. Granted, not all Yugioh players enjoy the anime, but some do, and why not keep them happy by releasing some of the old episodes by Season? It took long enough for Season 1 to be released in a Box...oh well.

The Video Games are also a hot topic. The World Championship Games are some popular ones as the cards included are usually expanded, and even have been including the current Ban Lists as of late (of the time.) There are a few games due out within the next month or two.

So, that's my rant for now, and I hope someone out there understands and can relate. Hopefully someone found this helpful, maybe you even agree. In any case, the game needs to be handled with care, or else it could die and fall out. That does it for today, and as always, if you need anything, feel free to contact me @ tsearcy@lssu.edu

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)
