Champion Interviews Series
Brian Graham - Delaware

9.15.05

note: Pojo.com is not responsible for however long an interviewee rants
about anything. Please read at own risk.

D.P. -- What is your first and last name?

Brian -- Brian Graham

D.P. -- How old are you?

Brian -- 18

D.P. -- What city and state do you live in?

Brian -- Newark, DE

D.P. -- How long have you been dueling?

Brian -- Since about Summer of 2002.

D.P. -- What decktype do you run and why?

Brian -- Used to run Fiends before Chaos came along overshadowed them. Switched
then to Chaos breifly, now i run a Ben Kei Deck just because its fun
and different.

D.P. -- What's your favorite card and booster and why?

Brian -- Hmm lets see favorite card...i guess Ben Kei because he's the focus of
my deck. Also love Dark Magician Girl ;)

Fav Booster...LoN and LoD i thought were two great ones. I also bought
DCR Packs like mad because i really needed Archfiend Soldier for the
old Fiend Deck

D.P. -- What are your thoughts on this summers tins?

Brian -- Probably the best tin set yet. Gilford will see alot of casual play.
Beast-warrior decks get even stronger with Exarion Universe and Vorse
Raider (too bad goats are only 1 now). Dark Magician Girl was the one
I bought. And Rocket Warrior's not too bad. It may see some
playability. But yea i do like this tin set alot more than the
other's.

D.P. -- What's the most success you've ever had in a tournament, and what's
your most recent tournament placement?

Brian -- Well i haven't attended any large tourny's, regionals and such, yet but
i want too. Best i've placed is second at my local card shop. Which
considering most of the top players in my state and a few top players
in the world play there, i'll take second anyday. Usually i at least
place in the top 8.

D.P. -- Do you think the new Ban list will help or hurt the game, and why?

Brian -- BLS is banned, of course it'll help. I do agree with everything that
they did, but i do wish they did a little more. I still remeber when
people wanted Jinzo to be banned and i still would like to see it go.
I hear alot of people say that they're suprised that RoD wase banned,
but hey its pretty much considered a staple of traps and is used in
every deck, so I'm not suprised. Limiter I'm somewhat suprised, i
guess to stop the Cyber End OTK, but if they wanted to do that, why not
just limit Cyberstein? Dark Hole unbanned...interesting, i guess to
stop alot of the removal monsters in most decks, like DDA, DDWL, and
TIV, but it should be fun.

D.P. -- Where do you see the general direction of the game going, and why?

Brian -- As of now the game is still going strong, not as strong as a few months
ago, or even a year ago, but in the short term it's the hottest CCG out
now. However a believe that in another year, there will be a
signifigant decline in players because of the lack of originality and
just people getting sick and tired of using and seeing the same cards.
I mean like the only difference between most decks is about 15 cards.
Upperdeck and Konami i guess use the ban list to try and remedy this a
bit, but after awhile it will get old. Also, with a new season coming
out, with a completely different storyline, that could effect the game
also. But i guess we'll find out in do time.

Thanks for your time!
