We continue our Top 10 Countdown with #7: Archfiend Eccentrick

Position on my list: N/A

Archfiend Eccentrick is another card that just barely missed the cut on my list. If you’re looking for versatile spot removal, you probably won’t find anything better. Her monster effect is equivalent to Exiled Force (y’know, that really old monster from back in the day?), and her Pendulum effect is a slower MST. More or less, Archfiend Eccentrick can answer any threat you’re facing, and being a Pendulum Monster means that you can re-summon her afterwards.

So on paper, Archfiend Eccentrick is great, but I also believe she’s a little overhyped. The two most effective Pendulum Decks in the game right now are Performage and Magician; in the former, being Level 3 means it’s not that easy to bring her back, and in the latter, being a Scale 7 means she’s effectively useless as a Pendulum Scale. She also cannot deal with Anti-Spell Fragrance, the main floodgate threat to Pendulums.

Most of these concerns are trivial however, and Archfiend Eccentrick is still an overall very solid card.

#7, and my assessment of it has not changed since a few months ago: It's one of the best generic Pendulum monsters we've seen yet.  Atop of providing the overall Pendulum works, it can pop a spell/trap and then come back to pop a monster.  Since Pendulum monsters revive themselves with ease, it could potentially be like having an Exiled Force for free every turn.  A must-have card.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Archfiend Eccentrick rounds out the week on Pojo. With several ways to search out the LIGHT Fiend, Eccentrick is a 1-for-1 regardless of where it ends up. Drop into the Pendulum Zone to pop a s/t on the field, or tribute it as a monster to destroy a monster.

This card is a solid option to disrupt your opponents field regardless of what deck you play. Even if you have no way of searching this card out and it goes against your strategy, this card can still be used. It doesn't need to go to the grave to complete its effect, and you can use it within your Pendulum Scale before activating its effect. Also, it does not specify which card you target with either effect, so if you need to destroy a card of your own to gain advantage or search something out, this card can do that. Like yesterdays card, Eccentrick is a great Side Deck option for any deck.

This was the very first card I reviewed. Ah the memories. When we reviewed Archfiend Eccentrick, we gave it a 3.58/5. I believe it has only gotten better with time. Even though it is a Pendulum Monster, you can use this in any deck to utilize one of her effects. If it can be targeted and destroyed, Archfiend Eccentrick can get it off the field. Within a Pendulum deck that can get Level 3 on the field repeatedly, Archfiend Eccentrick will possibly be able to pop two cards and still return to the Extra Deck to try again the next turn. I really like the design of this card overall because with awesome effects comes a fairly low Atk and Def. Now I just wish it had a lower price tag.

Score: 4.5/5
Art: 4.5/5 I still love crazy chicks.
