Lionhearted Locomotive is a Lionheart of sorts, being a powerful Level 4 Monster without an insane summoning requirement or some form or suicide or other destructive quality. 2400 attack is awesome for a Monster this powerful, but he does rather cripple himself. His attack becomes half the original attack until the conclusion of the Damage Step only. If this were say, only when you were attacking, maybe he could at least be a wall. Or only when the opponent attacks, something better than ALL the time. The 2100 defense is also rather nice, however, and could suffice as the wall you need. Level 4 helps, as does Machine, I'm going to have to wait for a ruling on this, but I think (think mind you) is that, at least with how this is worded, you can't even booster his attack. Limiter Removal would double him to 4800, but his own effect drops him back to 1200.

Lionhearted Locomotive
EARTH/Machine/Effect/Level 4/2400/2100
When this card declares an attack: Its ATK becomes half its original ATK until the end of the Damage Step.

Next up is another Anna card, Lionhearted Locomotive. Statwise it is an EARTH/Machine with 2400ATK and 2100 DEF, both which are excellent for a level 4.

Long ago when the game was still young; card designers would give level 4 monsters with 2000 or more ATK, terrible effects to make them unplayable. Well thanks to Lionhearted Locomotive, those terrible cards are back again! Yes Lionhearted Locomotive has a terrible effect, in this case when it attacks, its ATK becomes 1200. Terrible, if I wanted to play a level 4 monster with 2400 ATK, I would play Chainsaw Insect.

Overall, a terrible card, avoid.

Baneful

Lionhearted Locomotive

It's the opposite of Steamroid.  And I'm also wondering why it took so long (like 9 years) since then for LL to come out.

Initially, I saw some potential for this card, but I changed my mind.  I grossly overestimated it.  It might've been a great card in 2008, when 2400 ATK was formidable.  Now, it's just victim to the many monsters with 2500+ ATK that are easily summoned.  It's a decent stall/defense, but there has to be a better option.  This won't be destroying monsters in battle anyway.  Opponents will either avoid it or you won't be able to do much with it.  So, you might as well just set Spirit Reaper or Marshmallon (or anything along those lines, if you wanted that quick line of defense).

Not entirely worthless, but just way underwhelming.  All it does it waste removal, if the opponent finds it hard to summon a capable monster.  It's not aggressive or imposing.  There's no threat for waiting a turn until you can destroy it.  Perhaps if the ATK were 3000, it would be a nice card, but it's too little too late.

Terrorking

This will be another of those short and sweet reviews, my knick-knockers. Indeed, very short.

Lionhearted Locomotive is not a good card, and don't let the ATK trick you into thinking this is so. Level's too low to be good for Fortress (and unlike Gadgets, this doesn't fill up the hand for discards), you can only hit for 2400 damage with Limiter Removal and you get where I'm going. The only thing this has going for it is usage with Geargia, and that's pretty much every single Machine monster.
