Before we continue with the Armor Ninja reviews, I would like to add a little color to this Warrior archetype. This archetype comes from the Zexal series that is the newest installment of Yu-Gi-Oh cartoons. Yamikawa uses them and they consist of all four elements and two Xyz monsters. Their strategy is to swarm the field and modify levels in order to Xyz summon monsters. I covered much of the theme in yesterday’s review.

Flame Armor Ninja increases a Ninja monster’s level by 1 which can make it or another Ninja a level 5 monster. This is a pretty nice effect when combined with another level 5 monster like Cyber Dragon to make a Rank 5 xyz monster. Or you can combine your new level 5 Flame Armor Ninja with Ninjitsu Art of Transformation to special summon a Level 8 or lower Beast/Winged Beast/or Insect monster from your hand or deck. Currently we have a few monsters that work well with this effect, like Dark Simorgh and Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys.

Flame like the other 4 elements is a warrior so Reinforcement of the Army can search it out. When combined with the other 3 elements, Flame Armor Ninja is an important card for the deck.

The all-knowing pojo has us looking at Flame Armor Ninja today. A Level 4 Fire/Warrior type with 1700 ATK and 1000 DEF. Flame Ninja's effect is: When this card is summoned, you can target 1 Ninja monster you control and increase its level by 1. Flame Ninja's stats are ok for a level 4 warrior, and it can be searched by Reinforcements of the Army, Rahz, and a few other means. This card can be used with Ninjitsu Art of Transformation to mess around with the levels of your monsters to get out what you need. Overall, a decent card for the Ninja archtype to get out the bigger Xyz monsters faster.

Traditional: 1.5
Advanced: 2.5 In a Ninja deck only
Tomorrow: The Planeteer ninja thing keeps on going.

Flame Armor Ninja
Lv 4/FIRE/Warrior/1700A/1000D
"When this card is Summoned: You can target 1 face-up "Ninja" monster you control; increase its Level by 1."

FAN is a rather useful guy with decent stats. With 1700 ATK, he easily becomes the low-level muscle of any Ninja deck. He also plays around with the levels of any other monster, so he works well on bringing out XYZs or Synchros when mixed with tuners (the one thing the Ninjas lack).

FAN is a monster I can see getting splashed into Synchro and XYZ decks rather easily. He gives those types of decks some flexability. Also, he's a common card, so that makes him very easy and cheap to aquire. Naturally, you'll want to use him in any Ninja deck for muscle, especially one using an Extra deck.

All-in-all, a very solid card.

Traditional: 4.25
Advanced: 5 (in the right decks)/4.25 elsewhere)
