Wednesday

Evolsaur Diplo is next in the week, and as referred to yesterday, when Special Summoned by an Evoltile Monster, you can select and destroy a Magic or Trap card your opponent controls.  Its honestly not the best at what it does, but its easy and effective enough in its own Deck.  The Fire attribute these Monsters carry doesn't seem to do much good, and the 1600 attack isn't horrible for Level 4.  It's another necessary card for the Deck, like yesterday.  I think it could actually be fun to put a Deck together around these cards...anyone out there has one, e-mail me @ tsearcy@lssu.edu

We looked at one of the Evoltile monsters yesterday that can search for Evolsaur monsters. There are 3 more that we currently have that I know of. One special summons from the Hand, one from the graveyard, and the other two special summon from the deck. That is where the tool box of Evolsaur monsters comes in. Evolsaur Diplo has the effect that destroys a magic or trap card, so when the situation calls for some back row hate, we want to get Diplo from out tool box. Then we want to use our normal summon to Xyz into the Xyz monster that fits our needs.

As you can see, Evol decks are very versatile and quite fun to play. Unfortunately, there are tons of better cards out there that make other decks too good for this deck to beat. Black Luster Soldier (BLS), Tour Guide from the Underworld, Rescue Rabbit, Thunder King, and the many powerful Synchro monsters that the top tier decks run are just too much for our lowly Reptile and Dinosaur friends.

Wednesday is here, and we're reviewing Evolsuar Diplo. A level 4 Fire/Dinosuar type, with 1600 ATK and 800 DEF, its effect is when it is special summoned by the effect of a Evoltile, Target 1 spell or trap your opponent controls and destroy it. A pretty good effect, assuming it doesn't get hit with bottomless trap hole or something along those lines. Diplo works in tandem with yesterday's card, Westlo to sweep away any pesky back row cards that could be in your way. It could be used to Synchro summoning and Xyz summoning as well. Diplo is a nice little addition to the Evol archtype.

Angelic Nightmare

Today we continue with our Evol week.

Evolsaur Diplo

Dinosaur/ Fire/ Lv 4/ 1600 ATK/ 800 DEF

When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster: Target 1 Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls; destroy that target.

There really isn’t much to say about this card other than it useless anywhere else outside of Evol decks, but that goes without saying. The best way this card can be utilized is by being special summoned by the effect of Evoltile Westlo.

This card would actually be slightly better if it was a level 3 monster or if Evoltile Westlo was level 4. If you want to boost the attack power of your monsters you might want to try playing Molten Destruction or play Burden of the Mighty.

Pros: MST destruction effect and can easily be special summoned via other Evol monsters.

Cons: Can clog hand and its stats aren’t impressive.

"When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster: Target 1 Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls; destroy that target."

Another card of the new Evol archetype. ED has the ability to destroy a stell or trap belonging to the opponent, which is always a good thing. His ATK is almost decent and much better than expected for an effect like his.

He's searchable via yesterday's monster, so his effect is likely to come in handy. Antoher card you'll want multiples of in an Evol deck, but sadly, not really usable elsewhere, severely hindering his overall usability in any other deck.
