Because the Nordic Deck needed a Field Magic card.  The Nordic Lights (would look awesome in holofoil) is an interesting card.  Nordic monsters on the Field (not just yours) cannot be destroyed by Battle.  When this card is destroyed, destroy all face-up Nordic monsters (again, not just yours.)

A Field Magic that protects monsters from being destroyed is unique.  A Field Magic that potentially destroys all your monsters because it's too easy to destroy...not so unique.  That pretty much sums up my thoughts, it just seems too dangerous.

Today’s card is The Nordic Lights. This is one of the less used and less expensive cards from STOR. At first glance, this card looks kind of nice. Seeing as how all the Nordic synchros are such high levels, one might think that this card would allow them to just keep summoning monsters (without fear of them being destroyed by battle) and go in to their synchs easily. That would be all fine and dandy if it weren’t for the fact that, if this card bites the big one while on the field, all your Nordic monsters will too. Yeah, not to happy now are we. I personally think that the down sides of this card far outweigh the ups; I also don’t think that this card is going to being seeing a lot of competitive play any time soon, or at all.

Simple card today folks. Its a field spell that gives all nordics battle immunity, but if its destroyed all nordics die.

Pretty good for making your guys not die by battle, but watch out for spell and trap removal

The Nordic Lights sounds like an interesting Field Spell. It protects your Nordics from being destroyed by battle. You could use this advantage to set up big Synchro plays without worrying about defending. However, if The Nordic Lights is destroyed, it takes down all of your Nordics with it. That drawback is a doozy, and it will likely keep The Nordic Lights from ever being highly competitive.
