Bird of Roses
#TSHD-EN018 When this face-up Attack Position card is attacked, and it is destroyed as a result of battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 2 Plant-Type Tuner monsters from your Deck in face-up Defense Position.

Bird of Roses:
Could they have put any more restrictions on how this
guy has to die to get his effect? It seems a
tad ridiculous, but with his effect, I suppose I
understand. Being able to pull out 2 tuners
from your deck is a very exploitable effect (Diva,
Cat, etc...) as we've seen over the last few
formats. Obviously, the biggest draw back for
this guy is that your opponent is going to read the
card, and then most likely, not attack him whilst in
face-up attack position (book of moon or enemy
controller anyone?) or just use some sort or removal
on him. So this card can either make your
opponent squirm for a turn, or force their hand and
use that smashing or brain control they've been
holding onto. Should they actually attack it,
then you get to bring out a couple Cherry Inmatos or
Nettles. It's too bad we don't have Naturia
Cosmobeet yet as it's name is the greatest name of a
Yugioh card ever, and could also be summoned from
the effect of Bird. But Cherry Inmato works
nicely, as it allows you to set up even more plays
should your opponent destroy those Inmatos as well,
because they too can special summon Inmato monsters
from the deck. If anything, this card gives
plants another 1800 atk beater to use that actually
has an effect that makes it worth considering.
Traditional: 2.0
Advanced: 3.0 (would have been
higher without stupid destruction requirements)

Bird of Roses: Well,
after an accidentally long hiatus,
I'm back to CoTD. Today we have an interesting card,
Bird of Roses. The idea behind it is a Mystic
Tomato-style monster for plants that gives you two
cards rather than one. A really neat, potentially
even overpowered idea. However, some little
restrictions kill it. It can't attack into the
monster AND it has to be in face-up attack,
basically making it the most easily readable card
ever. Unfortunately, if your opponent knows even the
slightest bit of Yugioh, they'll remove it some
other way than attacking it, or just kill the tuners
before they do anything. Sadly, this is one of the
most useless recent monsters to exist.

Today's awesome card is Bird of Roses, which
confuses me because I thought this would become a
really popular and powerful card. It has some very
sturdy stats, with 1800 ATK, and unfortunately, 1500
DEF you'll never use. It has to be in attack mode
when it's killed... By an attacking monster... And
sent to the graveyard. Then, it'll blossom into 2
Plant Tuners from your deck! This means an instant
+1 as well as tuning material, deck thinning, and
swarming.
This can summon Cherry Inmato, Copy Plant, Nettles
and Spore, which are a few monsters you might want
on your field. Spore fires off its crazy awesomeness
and cuteness, and Cherry Inmato will split into
further Inmatos. This means your Rose Bird turns
into 2 Cherries when killed, and when each of those
get killed, you'll get 1 or 2 more Inmatos. Crazy?
Crazy. Then those Inmatos can help give you two
draws and clear off the field for your next plant
swarm.
I would love to see a deck built around Inmatos and
Rose Bird. Hint hint.
4.3/5
Art: Freaky, right? Stare closely and be afraid. Be
very afraid.
Fun Fact: Yes, .3.
Tomorrow: Furries.
