Dark Paladin
Thursday

Seed of Flame, a Level 3 Fire monster, yet also a Plant, a bit ironically, as Fire tends to destroy most plants. Anyway, this card has 1600 attack, which is almost respectable, and a fairly solid 1200 defense.

Now, here we have a decent card, with an equally decent effect, but must be triggered by being destroyed by a card effect, not by Battle, and your opponent will do that, and either not care, and do it anyway, or simply destroy it by Battle.

Anyway, IF destroyed by an effect, you get to Special Summon a Plant type monster that is Level 4 or lower aside from Seed of Flame, which is good, and you get a semi-useless Seed Token that you cannot use as a Tribute.

Cactus Fighter closes the week, and he can be a FIghter, appropriately of the Earth attribute, and Level 4, with a very impressive 1900 attack and a not so great 400 defense...did you guess that a monster with Cactus in it's name would be a Plant?

If this card destroys an opponent's Monster, which he most likely will with the reliable attack of 1900, you can Special Summon a Needle Token to your opponent's side of the Field in defense position.

Your opponent can sacrifice them, which is not a good thing...but, Plants like to play with Tokens. They can burn with them, tribute some of their own, but it's not a game-breaking effect or anything, but still a reliable beatstick.

General Zorpa Seed of Flame

This little guy is not as good as the all stars of Cactus Fighter and Gigantic Cephalotus. He is weaker and his effect is good, but not great. In fact, many people will play only a single copy of Cephalotus or Cactus Fighter anyway. There is no real reason to run this card at the moment. I can see it being better as PLants move away from a deoendance on Black Garden, but until then, it is not very good.

Seed of Flame is another card that can reborn a plant from the grave, but in this case, your opponent gets a token and the monster you reborn must be a level 4 or lower plant. Lord Poison also reborns a plant from the grave, but it can be any plant. Another thing that Lord Poison has over Seed of Flame is that it can be search out by Sangan.

Also when it is destroyed because of an effect, your opponent gets a token they can't tribute. It may be a little burden, but people would rather go for a direct attack. Its like giving your opponent a Necro Gardna to defend with.

In a Black Garden deck, this would be half bad. Normal summon Seed of Flame while Black Garden is on the field, your opponent gets a token and you have a Seed of Flame at 800 ATK. With that its 1600 ATK total of plants on the field, destroy Black Garden and special summon two Botanical Lions. One because of Black Garden and the other because of Seed of Flame. There are still better options than Seed of Flame, a card that doesn't deserve the rarity it was given.

Seed of Flame!!
Card doesnt look like much ... but 1600 ATK with 1200 DEF off a 3-star monster aint too shabby in it of itself. Add to that its effect of special summoning a monster if its destroyed by a card effect and sent to the graveyard, and this card gets so much cuter! You dont even need to wait for your opponent to do it, you can nuke your own field *cough* Torrential *cough*, and get your special summon. If that's not enough, u then get to clog your opponents field with worthless monsters that they can't tribute off the field. What should that mean to you? - it means that as much as this seed spices up the oh-so-already-spicey-as-of-late Plant Deck, he now has potential to wreck shop in other decks too. I've seen him fit nicely into Fire Decks, and I can see someone crafting a Lock Down deck with this dude's talents.
Versatility does NOT suck folks, and it rocks like crazy in Yu-Gi-Oh.
I've faced this guy. I've seen what he can do. I am a fan.
