The Tricky is a card we have seen on the cartoon, at least once, used by the Pharoh against Yugi in their final duel. He is a Level 5 Wind monster and a Spellcaster, with 2000 attack and 1200 defense.

You can Special Summon the Tricky by discarding one card from your Hand. While 2000 attack sin't going to be game changing, it is something that could work in your favor it you if you automatically use it to tribute for something.

It's an interesting card that honestly I think some Decks would be able to use for their advantage, while others will find to be utter junk.

Ratings:

3/5 overall for reasons listed above

This is another card that we got too late to be of use. Back in the Monarch formats, we could use him for Tribute, beatdown or what have you. Nowadays, he is just good for Synchro Summoning, and not all that great at it, as the last thing you need is to invest even more cards into one that id going to be a magnet for destruction, either by battle or effect.

He does have some cool tricks, but to be Honest (LOL) Dark Grepher and other cards all do his job better. I think that the card is great ad merits some further attention, but I cannot think of a good use for it right now, unless you cannot afford/find Dark Grepher for your Tele-DAD deck.

Todayʼs card up for review is The Tricky! Another one of my favorite cards. This card is decent at the moment but will get better after the next set is released! The Tricky+ Krebons=Level 8 Synchro, and The Tricky+Psychic Commander=Black Rose Dragon! I couldnʼt even say how much more it can do due to their not being a full spoiler for the new set. If you are thinking what it can do at present time, it can still do a lot! Pitching Destiny Hero Malicious or Treeborn to SS this guy is cool. Only downside is the discard of course, but there is so much you can pitch to what you want in the grave

I have seen The Tricky being used with Psychic commander for a Synchro Summon of a Stardust Dragon, but other than that The Tricky is just another beatstick monster. Being special summoned is a good thing right now, but having to discard a card to special summon it is a cost I wouldn't want to pay. It can get hit by either a Royal Oppression or a Bottomless Trap Hole. By that time, the player has already lost 2 cards. A better option is either Berserk Gorilla or Gene-Warped Warwolf.

Pwii Tricky is near perfect for DAD. Dark Grepher did so well because of it's mill effects. This is somewhat weaker in a few ways:

a) It's not dark.

b) it can't continuously mill. This shouldn't be much of a problem though.

c) it's not dark.

I think it balances out a little bit though with the fact that it doesn't require a lv 5 dark. But just a little.

Out of DAD, it's not that hot either. In some decks that get dead draws a lot and need tributes it would be good though. They are...nonexistent.

3/5 trad. A little better because of chaos.

2.5/5 adv. the whole unversitality of it with DAD prevents it from being of that much use.
