Dark Paladin
Monday

We open the week with Broken Blocker, a Trap Card that's a Super Rare, and part of me wonders why, although I do find it to be a fairly interesting card.

Anyway, Broken Blocker can only be activated when a Defense position monster you control is destroyed by Battle. Now, if the selected monsters Defense is higher than that monsters Attack, you can Special Summon up to two monsters of the same name in face-up Defense position.

There are some monsters that fit this criteria nicely, like Big Shield Gardna (100-2600) or Gear Golem the Moving Fortress (800-2200) and some others, but the real problem I see with this card is most of these monsters aren't really played.

In short, if you are playing enough monsters that fit the criteria, then I would go ahead and give one a shot. Summoning the two monsters makes this a break even card if you count the monster destroyed and the Trap card, for the two new monsters.

General Zorpa Broken Blocker

Well, this has some combo potential, but you don't win games by being defensive. In general defensive monsters are out of gameplay. This means that the likelihood of getting a beneficial exchange out of this card is almost not going to happen. People tend to destroy what they don't understand, and that includes face-down monsters, rather than attacking them.

I can see this working with a few cards. Legendary Jujitsu Master, Wall of Illusion, Necro Gardna and Destiny Hero Defender are all great picks for this card. They all have higher DEF than ATK, and they force your opponent to do something that they do not want to do in order to get rid of them or they provide some added benefit like protection and graveyard manipulation.

I think that this card has merit, but not in a competitive constructed deck. In a fun deck, especially the DEF OTK, you can really wreck people with this so that they will be afraid to attack. An interesting concept, but not really practical.

Today’s card up for review is Broken Blocker. This card is actually kinda cool. I am sure there are plenty of cards to grab with this card, but I am an offensive player so I wouldn’t have any use for this card. Not many cards that is “playable” will have a higer defense that the attack, if any that is, so I will pass on this card. Not discouraging you not to use it. If you can think of something to use it on let me know. Nothing is ringing a bell for me

Pwii broken blocker...It would only be good in 'invincible fortress'. I've played it and it is pretty fun, but not that good. Outside of that, the only good thing I can think of is dark jeroid. That wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to run three of them along with this to make it good.

1/5 all.
