Dark Paladin

Tuesday

Glorious Illusion open up the wonderful month of July, and this review COULD be as short as "This card is Call of the Haunted that only works for Lightsworn Monsters with a Mill cost."  It won't be quite that short, but you pretty much know everything now :)

As stated, it allows you to Special Summon a Lightsworn from your Graveyard in Attack Position.  You are also required to discard the top two cards of your Deck during each of your End Phases.  Now, is that a problem?  Individually, not at all.

However, you could have a problem with an additional two cards onto whatever you may all ready be discarding due to other monster effects.

Fortunately, the Lightsworn are a stong and quick hitting Deck.

4/5 for Lightsworn

Call of the Haunted is back, but just for Lightsworn decks. This is a really iffy card for Lightsworn decks though. The major problem is that this is a trap card, and it's slow for a deck like Lightsworn. Lightsworn is a deck that is known for being a really fast swarming deck, with Wulf, Lightsworn Beast and Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner. This card does what Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner does but is still quite costly at the same time, that it takes up space and you have to wait a turn to utilize it. It's still good to bring back what you need if you need Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner, Garoth, Lightsworn Warrior, Ehren, Lightsworn Monk or Lyya, Lightsworn Sorceress. Yes it can bring back monsters to the field, but also one of the main win conditions of Lightsworn decks is to bring out Judgment Dragon. Glorious Illusion would not only take another Lightsworn Monster from the Graveyard, but will just get destroyed anyways with Judgment Dragon's effect. This card can be used, but many times it'll be too slow or just useless as it's blown off of the field anyways. There are more important cards to go into Lightsworn decks than this.

Traditional: 1/5, I'm not a huge fan of Lightsworn here and even if, there are so many better cards than Glorious Illusion to play.

Advanced: 2/5, It's a bit too slow for the deck and the current state of the game. It's nice to get that monster when you need it, but then again, it's not always a stable or a good utility card.

I can never get the hang of Tuesdays. It's so weird having to adjust back to school life.

Does anyone know why call of the haunted was banned? Anyone? Because jinzo was at three and together they would've made to good a combo. This has nothing to do with the card except they remind me of each other. This is a FREAKING AWESOME lightsworn call of the haunted, need I say more?

5zillion/5 in a lightsworn deck, both formats.

1/5 other.
