Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Tyrant Dragon

Card Number - LOD-034

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating

Date Reviewed - 06.06.03

The Echidna Tyrant Dragon

One of the many strong dragon cards in LOD, this one will certainly
make its way into some dragon decks. Its just 100 atk points lower than BEWD, with the same number of tributes, but it has the big side effect that if you special summon it from the graveyard, you have to sack one of your dragons in play. not exactly the best use of recursion…

if you do manage to get this out, you basically get to attack with it
twice if your opponent has two or more monsters on the field. not
really worth the effort that it takes to get it out, IMHO. sure, you
can rely on the Lord of the D/Flute combo, but you’re better off to
stick with some of the other dragons in the set over this one.

Rating: 2.5/5 in a dragon deck, 1.5/5 otherwise. Stick with Spear
Dragon and Cave Dragon instead.
Adam F. Tyrant Dragon [Dragon/Effect]

Effect: When there is a monster on your opponent's side of the field
after the first attack of your Battle Phase, this monster can attack once again during the same Battle Phase. In addition, negate the effect of a Trap Card that specifically designates this card as a target and destroy it. If this monster is Special Summoned from the Graveyard, you must offer 1 Dragon-Type monster on your side of the field as a Tribute.

Fire/8/2900/2500

HELLO! ABOUT BLOODY TIME WE GOT A DECENT CARD!

ok, the two tribute thing bugs me a little... but hey... WHO CARES? this thing is JUST under the power of a BEWD AND it has an effect similar to that of Hayabusa Knight, so long as your opponent has a monster on the field... lets give this thing an Axe of Despair and let it wreak havoc...

"Oh, what are the odds? You have a Gate Guardian AND a Valkyrion out at the same time... lets see... that one dies... and... that one dies..."

The Special Summon thing... ok, I don't like that much either... but again, that's only from the graveyard... use the archaic Lord of D + Flute of Summoning Dragon, and you've got up to FOUR attacks of 2900 each... This is the best card of the week... I haven't said "meh" once... except for there...

I give this card a 5/5 - if you have a dragon deck, USE ONE! (or... as many as you can get your hands on, but are still within the legal rules of the game...)
