Effect: This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned or flipped face-up. This card can attack all monsters on your opponent's side of the field. You cannot attack your opponent directly if you attack any monsters first.
Card Number LOD-071
[Insert witty rhyme here]
I must say, this card is literally the reason why I am returning to Card of the Day, for good. Asura Priest is one of my favorite cards. It isn't exactly a top of the line card, but the effect is simply perfect for my tournament environment. Around where I play, Nimble Momonga and Scapegoat are played
religiously, and this card simply smacks 'em all up.
Being able to attack all of your opponent's monsters really is nice in a situation where you need to make a comeback. However, only being a 1700 attack power monster, most of the time isn't going to take down an Army of Bazoo's, Goblin Attack Forces, or Gemini Elf's. So this card really isn't nearly a staple in the game.
The fact that it goes back to your hand at the end of your turn is kind of a downer. It can also be good though, since you need not worry of a snatch steal threat or the Asura Priest being killed by a magic card.
My Rating: Well, regardless on how much I love this card, chances are, it will not be AS helpful in your play metagame. So I'm giving this puppy a 3.5, since it's a bit above average.
Have a great day!
