Skill Drain Gravekeeper Deck by Baneful

April 2014, Advanced Format

[19 - Monsters]

3 Malefic Stardust Dragon

3 Malefic Cyber End Dragon

3 Gravekeeper's Commandant

3 Gravekeeper's Spy

3 Gravekeeper's Nobleman

2 Gravekeeper's Recruiter

1 Beast King Barbaros

1 Thunder King Rai-Oh

NOTES: MSD and MCED provide the firepower.  Commandant, Nobleman and Recruiter search and bypass Skill Drain.  Spy doesn't bypass Skill Drain, but she becomes a 2500 defender and is good for when you don't draw it nonetheless.  Barbaros is a strong 3000 ATK beater for Skill Drain, but I only use 1 so it's not situational.  And Rai-Oh is an overall strong anti-meta card.

[12 - Spells]

3 Necrovalley

3 Mystical Space Typhoon

2 Kaiser Colosseum

1 Royal Tribute

1 Allure of Darkness

1 Book of Moon

1 Pot of Duality

NOTES: 3 Necrovalley provide a foundation for my Malefics and Gravekeeper.  They also limit the opponent's graveyard capabilities which can cripple some decks.  In a meta where so many theme decks rely on spell/traps, I feel like 3 MST is a MuST.  Kaiser is quite a standout, but is definitely good against XYZ oriented decks that want to swarm or summon two monsters to bring out their XYZ.

[9 - Traps]

3 Skill Drain

2 Mirror Force

1 Torrential Tribute

1 Eradicator Epidemic Virus

1 Solemn Warning

1 Imperial Tombs of Necrovalley

NOTES: 3 Skill Drain cripples opposing decks.  Would use 5 if I could but wanted to make the deck able to survive without it.  With 6 eligible targets and the ability to cripple some decks, I found EEV to be a must.  Warning is still worth the cost in my eyes.  Originally ran 3 Imperial Tombs but now I use one since they can clog up your hand due to their situational nature.
