Building a Budget Synchro Deck - Mark

We all know about Synchro monsters, and most of us probably hate them. Synchros probably ruined the game by being too accessible. The Extra Deck is also extremely expensive. We all know Synchros like Goyo Guardian, Stardust Dragon, and the infamous Dark Strike Fighter.

Some players might ask, “Is there any way I can make a Synchro deck without spending much money?” My answer is, yes, you can. Though it might not be as effective as some players', you can still fulfill the point of a Synchro deck being a toolbox, and even get plenty of use out of it. Keep in mind that in article, I'm not including Synchros that require a certain Tuner to summon them, like Junk Warrior or Road Warrior (lol, for anyone who watches South Park).

Getting those Synchros isn't going to be very hard. Some of them have even been released in tins: Red Dragon Archfiend, Stardust Dragon, Black Rose Dragon, and Goyo Guardian. Also, you can get some decent Synchros out of starter decks. Just buy both 5D's starters and you'll find yourself with Gaia Knight the Force of Earth, Collosal Fighter and X-Saber Urbellum, and you'll also have a few other nice cards. Like X-Saber Airbellum and two copies of Scrap-Iron Scarecrow.

Once you have those three nifty Synchro monsters, it's time to go and get some Collector's Tins to find three more! It'll cost you a hefty $12 - $15 for each one, but at least you'll gain 5 packs and some tokens out of each of those. Who knows? Maybe you might even pull some more Synchros out of those tins!

Your first priority should be to get Stardust Dragon. Its epic picture and effect will make sure you remain safe from harm and can control the field. Then, you should go for Goyo. I don't know if it's true, but I'm pretty sure Goyo is a Toy's R Us exclusive, so you might have to pull a Rockefeller and borrow someone's kid to save yourself from some embarrassment. Third and fourth on your list is Red Dragon Archfiend and Black Rose Dragon, I suggest just going for whichever one you like more. Keep in mind that the Tin Promo Synchro monsters aren't worth too much if you're buying them off of people.

There are more cheap Synchros, mainly rares. You could get Psychic Lifetrancer but she's very weak. She isn't going to do you much good but she's better than nothing. The other Rare Synchro is Iron Chain Dragon. Bad in most duels, but when it's good to summon, it's very good to summon. I would go for Iron Chain Dragon before Lifetrancer since you already have two other level 7 synchros.

So, after you've gotten the starters and tins, and maybe some singles, you'll have built yourself a very solid, budget Synchro toolbox to aid you in your Duels!

6: Gaia Knight the Force of Earth, Goyo Guardian & Iron Chain Dragon
7: Black Rose Dragon, X-Saber Urbellum & Psychic Lifetrancer
8: Stardust Dragon, Red Dragon Archfiend & Collosal Fighter

After reading this article, you'll probably be able to go out and get yourself a solid Synchro deck! A total of 9 cards, you'll have three monsters to access in all 3 of the normal Synchro levels, 6, 7 & 8. And of course, this isn't counting any Synchro monsters you may have pulled in booster packs from the tins! Hopefully this article may have helped a few people trying to catch up with the game on a budget!

Till next time, my browser redirects all complaints to people who don't care! Questions or comments or even deck fixes can be emailed to me at orasion64@gmail.com
