yubel update - yubel user

Deck Name: Yubel – Your Opponents Ultimate Nightmare: update

Author: Yubel-user

Count: 40

I decided to run my old yubel deck in a tournament yesterday and discovered something.... it was far, far too slow. A few times I was even beaten before I could summon yubel. It was fairly disappointing. I'm fairly sure the reason for this was that I happened to be running it with skull servants as beat-sticks.

This time round it is more focussed and much faster.

Okay, so there's the line-up. So let me explain. The yubel cards should all be pretty obvious so I'll skip them.

Montage dragon is the replacement for skull servants. These guys are awesome for attack power if used correctly. In fact, there is a possible OTK in this deck for them. Not only that, they can dump yubel into the graveyard. So, here's how to do it: to summon, discard three yubel cards of any kind (it doesn't matter which but two ultimate nightmares and one terror incarnate looks like the best option). This will give your montage dragon a grand attack total of 10500 ATK. In the first turn you can attack they happen to have left a monster in attack mode, use heavy storm and beat stick with this. There you go, OTK. The other possibility is using this while one terror incarnate is out on the field. There are counters for this but in a lot of cases most opponents will leave their monster field empty (especially if you decide to stick a fatal abacus in, i didn't for space reasons) and simply use traps to stop you from attacking. As above, heavy storm and smash them.

Armageddon knight: can ditch yubel to the grave. Dark grepher can do it from hand or deck. Mystic tomato can summon it to the field where you can destroy it yourself for yubel 2 or let it self destruct and limit reverse it. Phantom of chaos can be used for a quick beating with yubel 2 or 3's effect though it should be a last resort.

The following cards are simply draw engines.... Some are also good for ditching yubel:   The Beginning of the End, Hand Destruction, Card Destruction, pot of avarice

The following cards can be used to destroy yubel to bring out it's higher levels... these can also be used to destroy your opponent's monsters and ditch yubel: Dark valkyria, tribute to the doomed, offerings to the doomed.

Foolish burial will ditch yubel.

Limit reverse can bring yubel from the grave onto the field. This is essential. Activate in your opponent's standby phase (or just after the summon of a cyber end dragon/ultimate ancient gear golem). In your next turn switch yubel to defence to destroy it and summon terror incarnate. Mask of darkness can bring back a limit reverse.

Dark bribe is an immensely powerful card that has a minimal cost. Will negate any magic or trap and your opponent draws one card. Very handy for when your opponent is trying to destroy yubel or magic cylindering your montage dragon. Dark illusion serves a similar purpose, negating and destroying anything, other than an attack, that targets yubel. Solemn Judgement is run in just about every tier 1&2 deck so you should all know what it does and why it's useful.
