Upcoming Zombie Support - Vicious Boston

Welcome to another version of Zombie talk! While this is the third installment
it is probably the last for a while! But I promise this one will be well worth it because
it is a look to a bright, dark future (see what I did there?) for zombies! I will be going over some of the cards from the new Zombie structure deck in Japan coming out June 8th.

Undead World (Zombie World)|| Field Spell: All monsters on the field and in the Graveyard are treated as Zombie-Type monsters. No monsters can be Tribute Summoned, except Zombie-Type monsters.

WOW!! This card is the keypoint of the new structure deck. This card is leaving many who have seen it speachless at to what this can do for Zombies if it would come out soon. Every card on the field and in the graveyards are treated as Zombies. Abuse of Zombie Master/Il Blud to revive Disc Commander,Armageddon Knight, Dark Grepher, Elemental Hero Stratos, and others along with the fact that you can splash in other non-zombies into your deck to create new and exciting combos.

Black Knight of Dark Dragon || Light | Zombie/Effect | 1900/1200 4 Stars: Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Zombie-Type monster from your opponent's Graveyard that was destroyed by battle to your side of the field.

The farther we go into this the more I feel that this structre can catapult Zombies into the Shonen Jump Championchip circuit and give them a very strong competitive showing in the top 16. 1900 attack level 4 makes this guy a strong beatstick to use. 1900 attack is arguably the highest attack a level 4 can have without having a negative drawback attached. 1200 Defense makes him searchable from Pyramid Turtle and from Goblin Zombie! His effect is subpar until you combine him with Zombie World. With Zombie World on the field this guy is a terrifying sight for your opponent. Steal their monsters is great but it can sometimes be a drawback by flooding your field. If you were to run this guy you would probably need sacrifice spells in your deck to tribute them off or get benificial effects off them. Share the Pain would work well here.

Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon || Dark | Zombie/Effect | 2400/2000 | 7 Stars: This card can be Tribute Summoned in face-up Attack Position by Tributing 1 Zombie-Type monster. When this card destroys a Zombie-Type monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon that monster to your side of the field.

Another Zombie thief! Apparently this deck is focusing more on the opponents monsters than your own. The first part of his effect is great! 7 stars for 1 tribute? Great! 2400 Attack is vanilla for 1 tribute. 2000 Defense is enough to be special summoned via Pyramid turtle which always works well. You will always have a zombie to tribute in a dedicated deck and if Zombie World is on the field. A strong card from the deck but not the one I am so excited about. Red Eyes has never had any truely broken forms.

Darkness Gear - Gokuen || Light | Zombie/Effect |2400/1400 | 6 Stars : You can Normal Summon this card without Tribute. If this card is Normal Summoned this way, during your End Phase, if you do not control a Zombie-Type monster other than  this card, send this card to the Graveyard and take damage equal to this cards ATK.

Light Zombies? This is the second one in the deck and somewhat of an oddity. While I am not familiar with what sort of support you can get from it being Light, it sure does help get around the Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror people may side/main deck. No tribute 2400 Monster...destroyed during an endphase if you control no zombies on your field...I'm sorry but that isn't too much of a drawback as it may almost never happen. Also this card can be summoned via Pyramid Turtle too so it can bypass this entire drawback if you're scared!

Royal Impregnable Fortress || Trap : ???

For some reason when I look at the structure deck listing online this is the only card withan unknown effect. It could just be my excitement but I have a feeling this card is being kept hush-hush for a reason. This may be another form of broken Zombie Support. I can only hope as Zombies are my favorite type of monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh!

Other cards listed for this deck in the release are:

Zombie Master
Gernia
Pyramid Turtle
Field Barrier

It was also speculated Il Blud would be released in this for the Japanese OCG. If you don't know Il Blud has been a TCG Exclusive card. It is likely that Mezuki will be in this deck which if  this exact structure comes out in the TCG that would be superb as it is an OCG exclusive card.

Mezuki || Earth | Zombie/Effect | 1700/1000 | 4 Stars: When this card is in your graveyard, you may remove this card from the game to special summon one zombie type monster from your graveyard to the field. This would be an amazing card to get in the TCG for obvious reasons. Attack attack attack with all your zombies without fear of losing card advantage and field presence. This guy can single handedly pay for himself and regenerate your field. While he may end up limited for his usefulness it is still great to have at 1 or 2 in a deck.

Now...Onto when we can expect to see these card and this structure deck in the TCG. It would seem to me that the OCG has synchro and tuner mobs. While I am not sure if we in the TCG would get these forms they may find a place by removing the certain mechanics of these monsters and replace those cards with the cards included in these sets. It is also possable that we could get these as promotionals off of the new Tournament pack that will be coming out soon. While I fully expect the structure deck to come out in the TCG I do believe that atleast Mezuki will be released as a promotional/Tournament pack exclusive.

Thank you for reading another one of my articles. I am very anxious to hear what you the community and players think of these new cards and how it will effect Zombies or the Metagame. Please write an e-mail to Wrath886@yahoo.com with a subject line "YuGiOh" and I will respond to it as you send them, in a timely manner.
