May 2008

deck fix #3 creator of destiny- a friend

A new and interesting deck was sent in that focused on the normal creator. The idea was to completely dominate the opponent with card advantage that came from the creator repeatedly special summoning destiny-hero disk commander.

Hello. After the sudden surge of Dark copies of original Light monster and their dominance in the game. I thought that maybe an old original monster might be able to stand up to the darkness.

Yeah. I choose to revise the Creator. With the current multiple reborn of Disk Commander and massive drawing this deck does have potential. As for the side deck, thought to just splash in Dark World for an unexpected twist.
Mostly go to local tournaments; however my friends do go to regional and higher so I go up against usually a top 16 type deck.
Well, that's all. Thanks for any help and I eagerly wait for any changes.

Sincerely,
Gary

Well Gary, this is certainly an ambitious deck. I can tell that you want to get the creator out as fast as possible with you running the creator and the creator incarnate in triplicate. But before I fix anything, I need to space the deck so I can work with it better.

That’s better, now onto the changes, lets start with the monster lineup.

I really don’t like majestic mech- goryu, it just doesn’t seem like it would be useful most of the time, so I’m going to cut it. Although you will most likely have either one of the two creators in your hand, it seems that only one can be used more often than not so I think I’ll cut 2 of the creator incarnates. Other than that your monster lineup seems solid. I do have a problem with the fact that you’re missing sangan, treeborn frog and snipe hunter. Sangan is a staple nuff said. Although treeborn frog interferes with the card of safe return stuff, I think it will be fine since you have giant Trunade and it’s just required since you run so many tributes. Now, if the deck does manage to go off, it will have many cards, so why not put them to use with good old snipe hunter. Finally, a destiny-hero fear monger will allow you to use those dashers and disk commander again, so why not add him.

The spells were a bit trickier. All I can think of doing is cutting both copies of monster reincarnation because it always a -1 and the monster it brings back usually won’t win you the game, I’ll take out both. I know that card of safe return is great while you have the creator out, but when you don’t, it doesn’t really work and interferes with treeborn frog, I’ll cut one copy just to be safe. Now since you only have 5 level 8 monsters instead of 6, I’ll cut one copy of trade-in. Normally, I’d take out the nobleman of Crossout but since now that monarch decks and gladiator beasts are on the rise, I’ll leave it in and hope that you can hit a hoplomus or dekoichi or maybe even gravekeeper’s spy. That raps up the spells section, onto the traps. Your trap line-up is solid, but since I need to add one more card to make your deck 40 cards, I’ll add the second best normal trap ever printed, (the best being gravity bind J) limit revearse. It brings back disk commander and marshmallon. The best part being when you’re done with the monster, just switch it to defense and it will be destroyed. I think that’s the best I can do.

Here’s what we’ve done:

-1 majestic mech-goryu

-2 the creator incarnate

-2 monster reincarnation

-1 trade-in

-1 card of safe return

+1 sangan

+1 snipe hunter

+1 treeborn frog

+1 destiny-hero fear monger

+1 limit revearse

Your final decklist looks like this:

Monsters (17):

The Creator x3

The Creator Incarnate x3

Dark Magician of Chaos

Destiny Hero – Disk Commander *

Destiny Hero – Dasher x2 *

Destiny Hero – Plasma *

Elemental Hero – Stratos *

Snipe hunter

Destiny-hero fear monger

Card or safe return

I think I’ll leave your sidedeck how it is except I’ll take out fine for that third card of safe return because your need 3 in a dark world deck. I hope this helps and I wish you good luck in all you future tournaments. As always, if you need help, just send in your decklist to soccerboy7@rogers.com in the same format I used above. A new deckfix will be coming tomorrow as well.
