Healing Can Be Very Painful - captainkirk

This is my first time writing an article so go easy on me. I have watched the current meta with Dark Armed Dragon dominating the format and think there could be need for a mid ban-list restriction of Dark Armed Dragon, but I will not plan on it happening. I was at a regional on March 8th and took 12th, but one of my friends was playing a very good deck and I am going to explain a few things about the deck and why it works so well in the format. Here is the basic deck list after the regional occurred to make it more efficient.

Monsters: 9
3x Nurse Reficule the Fallen One
3x Mystic Tomato
1x Marshmallon
1x Spirit Reaper
1x Morphing Jar

Spells: 11
3x Upstart Goblin
2x Wave Motion Cannon
3x Offerings to the Doomed
1x Scapegoat
1x Chainstrike
1x Monster Reborn

Traps: 20
2x Bad Reaction to Simochi
3x Gift Card
2x Path of Destiny
3x Dimension Wall
1x Magic Cylinder
1x Ceasefire
3x Threatening Roar
3x Reckless Greed
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Mirror Force

It is easy to see that the point of the deck is to get Nurse Reficule the Fallen One onto the field and burn your opponent’s life points. There are a few catches though, like Nurse’s ability does not accumulate for each additional Nurse you control. If your opponent has a Prime Material Dragon on the field, any effect that would increase your opponent’s life points would in the end still increase them, if you want specifics feel free to email me and I will explain why. There are no Soul Taker(s) in the deck because they are very expensive and hard to come by.

Some of you may ask, why are there Offerings to the Doomed and Reckless Greed in the deck? I will tell you why. The reason for the Reckless Greed(s) is for draw power and that is it. Seeing as the deck already loses turns because of Reckless Greed, we scratched the idea of Smashing Ground and Hammer Shot to go with a card that we can decide the target for so that if Jinzo is on the field, we are guaranteed to destroy it.

Threatening Roar is great tech for the deck because it slows the meta down to be able to counteract the speed of Dark Armed Dragon and Diamond Dude Turbo. All this deck really needs is to hit a Gift Card or two and then Ceasefire or Wave-Motion Cannon for the game.

This is a very consistent deck and I would recommend it for this format because it is fairly inexpensive with only Mirror Force and Nurse being the most expensive cards in the deck. If anyone has tried this deck, email me and let me know how it did and against what deck style.

If you have any decks you want reviewed or edited you can email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for checking out my first deck review.
