Deck Fix - Anti-Meta Deck

Hello, once again people. I neglected to mention this in my last two deck fixes (because I'm just cranking these out as I go), so let me mention that I'm Master of Shadows first before I continue. Okay, I've mentioned it. Now to continue. Another deck fix I have for ye, people. As usual, you get the message:

hi there at my local tournaments the only decks that are being played are gladiator beasts, dark armed dragons, lightsworn and six samarai decks. so i decided to built a deck to counter these decks. i was wondering if you can please take a look at my deck to see if you can have any suggestions to make it better. thanks for reading  jz

I like this deck. This is certainly interesting, and I like it. Locking down the Special Summoning power of these decks is deadly, and I like it. However, I must tell you that some of these things have to go, and have to go now.

- 1 Gil Garth

- 1 Opticlops

- 1 La Jinn, Mystical Genie of the Lamp

- 1 Zure, Knight of Dark World

- 3 Archfiend Soldier

- 1 Wall of Illusion

- 1 Giant Trunade

I dropped 9 cards here. All the Normal monsters had to go because we have more useful cards to replace them. Giant Trunade had to go because there are other cards to use in its place. I just can't think of any right now. Wall of Illusion had to go because we don't want to give Stratos numerous chances to get its effect off at the low cost of 50 Life Points each time.

Your deck works by locking down the opponent's (and your own) Special Summons which ultimately slows things down. Let me see what I can add here:

+ 3 Gravekeeper's Spy

+ 1 Gravekeeper's Guard

+ 1 Crush Card Virus (if you can get it - if not, Deck Devastation Virus)

+ 2 Solemn Judgment

I added 7, bringing you to 40 cards. That's perfect. Now to explain my additions. The Gravekeepers are here to provide you with Tribute bait. I noticed that there isn't much in the way of supporting Tributes besides Fiend's Sanctuary and, to a lesser extent, Wall of Illusion. While Vanity's Fiend and Royal Oppression will keep you from Special Summoning while they're active, they will not stop you from getting the Tribute bait needed when they're not on the field. Plus, Gravekeeper's Spy won't give Stratos another chance to use its effect and will bring out another of itself (or Gravekeeper's Guard, whose defense is almost as high). Plus, Gravekeeper's Guard is a nice Crush Card target, something you have plenty of, so why not go for a deadly lockdown? Solemn Judgment is for all-purpose negation to protect you alongside Dark Bribe. If you're not liking the Gravekeepers, then feel free to use 3 Fires of Doomsday and that Giant Trunade.

That's about all I have for you. As far as your side deck goes, that one I'll leave to you. Good luck with it and have fun. If things still aren't working, try changing your playing style. That usually works. Have fun with it.

Until next time....
