CRZYDRVR'S GUIDE TO CHEAP CARDS AND DECKS-Crzydrvr

Hey, there! It turns out that BLAST WITH CHAIN destroys a card, not damages your opponent's lifepoints. Now, back to business. There are many duelists that, like me, cannot wildly spend money on cards. So, for the majority that can't buy cards all the time, as many as they want, here's a guide to how to save money when buying cards.

1. Don't always buy the latest packs.

The latest packs always have the good cards, right? Wrong. The cards are only newer. Buying old packs can save you up to 50% than when it just comes out. Buying cheaper packs can also help you save money to wait until the latest pack is cheaper. It might mean you get your cards later than everyone else, but it sure beats the alternative.

2. Buy in bundles.

The general rule in a business is make the bundles cheaper to attract more customers. It's the same with Yugioh. Buying tins, Special edition packs, and store-exclusive premade packages can save you up to 50% off than if you buy everything separately. For example, a store in Calgary is selling a package with 10 boosters (including some Dark

Revelations) and around 5 promos (including Dark Necrofear, Thousand-Eyes Restrict and White Horn Dragon). I haven't checked the price yet, but I'm guessing it's around $40. That's a saving of over $25! Buying groups of packs will contribute greatly to your savings.

3. Don't always buy booster packs at all.

Up here, it's $4.99 for a pack of cards. Seems harsh, doesn't it? You can buy other things though. By buying Structure Decks, you can get the majority of staple cards at a lower price. They actually have cards that work together, while being over 50% cheaper. Buying these will help you more than buying packs of cards.

4. Don't buy at all.

There is another way to get cards that you want, and it doesn't involve money. If yoiu have a bunch of cards that you don't want, you can kill two birds with one stone by trading them. It will get you some of the cards you want/need while getting rid of cards that are useless to you. The average duelist uses 56 cards in his deck and side-deck combined, yet the average duelist has between 200-300 cards in total. That means they're only using about 18-28% of their cards.

What better way to get rid of them by trading? For tips on trading well, please see my previous article, BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO DUELING.

Now that you know how to save your money, let's create a deck that can win in local and possibly provincial tourneys:

*Miscellaneous- doesn't matter where you get it from

x1 Ultimate Offering-Machine Re-Volt

x1 Dust Tornado-Yugioh Starter

x1 Magic Cylinder-Yugioh Starter

x1 Jar of Greed-Yugioh Starter

x1 Waboku-Invincible Fortress

x1 Magic Drain-Invincible Fortress

This deck is cheap compared to many top-notch decks out there (approx.

$75 spent compared to the $150-$250 used to create tournament decks).

It only has 2 foils, the common ultra rare Bladedges. The rest are all commons that you can find. As stated in the name it uses the trample effect a lot, with the Fairy Meteor Crushes and Ancient Gear Golems and all. It's an aggressive deck that saves the monster destruction for the attackers. All in all, it'd be a 3/5 on the power scale, not bad because many decks pay $150 for the same strength.

That's all for now! If you need me, email evanl11@cbemail.ca. I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can. For a complete list of my previous articles, see below. Go Flames Go! Eli beats Peyton anyday.
