JULY 2008

Deck Fix: Zombies - Master of Shadows

Hello, everyone. I have another deck fix for you, people, so let's get to it. The message:

I need help with my King of the Skull Servants deck.

Here is the decklist.

Monsters (19)

3x King of the Skull Servants
3x Skull Servants
3x The Lady in Wight
3x Pyramid Turtle
2x Ryu Kokki
1x Spirit Reaper
1x Sangan
1x Dark Dust Spirit
2x Fear From The Dark

Spells (17)

3x Book of Life
2x Card of Safe Return
2x Hand Destruction
2x Allure of Darkness
2x Foolish Burial
1x Monster Reborn
2x Fires of Doomsday
1x Heavy Storm
2x Inferno Reckless Summon

Traps (6)

2x Threatening Roar
2x Dark Illusion
1x Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
2x Bottomless Trap Hole

The object is to put as many skull servants and lady in wight
in the graveyard to power king of the skull servants. Lady in
Wight protects zombies and opponents need to summon a level 5
or more or use a card effect. Fear from the Dark uses Hand Destruction
well and Pyramid Turtle is the Recruiter. Dark Dust Spirit is a safety
use to help stop swarming.

Spells special summon and help get cards in the grave or set up defense
for opponents to get cards in the grave.I think I do not need draw power;
Card of Safe Return, Hand Dest, and the Allures help. I have no D-Draws.

Traps help to stall to get the deck rolling. Crush Card Virus would be
but I do not own one.

I know I need Armageddon Knight for help. Zombie Master is iffy due to
needing cards to be in the graveyard. Same is for Limit Reverse.

So I need your answers by this evening so I can playtest Wed at a DOK

Thanks

A Skull Servant deck. Interesting. Let's see what I can do with this. Sorry I got to this so late. I've been out for a while, but I'll get to everyone's. Now to the actual cuts and additions.

Cards to kill off:

- 1 Dark Dust Spirit

- 2 Fear from the Dark

- 2 Allure of Darkness

- 2 Fires of Doomsday

- 2 Inferno Reckless Summon

- 2 Dark Illusion

I cut out 11 cards. Dark Dust Spirit, while it blows up the opponent's field, also blows yours up. While being a Spirit helps its survivability, it does nothing for yours. Besides, there are better options for blowing up your opponent's field, and you're already using some of them. Fear from the Dark is pretty much a 1700 attack vanilla monster as the only thing that'll be discarding something from your hand is the opponent's Spirit Reaper, something that can easily be dealt with. Allure of Darkness goes because, even though the draw power is valuable, it will often hit one of our Skull Servant cards, and Skull Servants thrive in the Graveyard. Fires of Doomsday because you have more than enough protection. Inferno Reckless Summon because it's almost useless here. Even though it can bring out a multitude of Skull Servants, we have much better ways to pull them out and put them into the Graveyard instead of dropping them on the field first. Dark Illusion because there's a better option.

Now for additions:

+ 2 Goblin Zombie

+ 2 Zombie Master

+ 1 Card of Safe Return

+ 1 Hand Destruction

+ 2 Enemy Controller / Lightning Vortex

+ 2 Solemn Judgment / Dark Bribe

I added 10 cards. Goblin Zombie as an added way to pull out your Skull Servants. Zombie Master as an added way to revive them (over Inferno Reckless Summon), warranting the use of a third Card of Safe Return as something of a draw engine. Hand Destruction for dumping Skull Servants and other dead cards as well as running through your deck faster. Enemy Controller for some protection and some other battle tricks, not to mention being able to put an on-field Skull Servant into the Graveyard. Lightning Vortex is an option as well, being able to blow your opponent's field up like Dark Dust Spirit but not at the cost of your own. Solemn Judgment and Dark Bribe are there to do what Dark Illusion did: stop anything that threatens you. Solemn Judgment and Dark Bribe can negate just about anything. Divine Wrath, Magic Drain, and Seven Tools of the Bandit could also work there, in that order.

I did what I could. I'm sorry I got to this so late. I've been pretty busy lately, but I will get everything done. That's about it for now. Everything can be sent to darkdestructionv30@yahoo.com

Until next time....
