Deck Fix: Spellcaster deck - Master of Shadows

Hello, Pojoers. Master of Shadows has another deck fix for you. Surprise, surprise. Let's get to it before my fingers get tired, shall we?

Hi,

Call me Spartan-Sensei.
I've been using a spellcaster deck for a year or more (though I
haven't been so active lately). Recently I started trying to fix it a
bit and I came up with the following deck.
I'd like the deck to be competitive against all kinds of decks,
although the ones I have tryied it against, after I started fixing it
again, have been effect damage decks (like having solar flare dragon
and such).
Any advice is welcome.

Monsters: [18]
1  SKILLED DARK MAGICIAN
2  SKILLED DARK MAGICIAN
3  SKILLED DARK MAGICIAN
4  DARK MAGICIAN
5  DARK MAGICIAN

11 APPRENTICE MAGICIAN

13 GRAVEKEEPER'S GUARD
14 KYCOO THE GHOST DESTROYER
15 JINJO
16 MASK OF DARKNESS
17 SANGAN
18 SPIRIT REAPER

Spells: [13]
1  SWORDS OF REVEALING LIGHT
2  LIGHTING VORTEX
3  MAGE POWER
4  SCAPEGOAT
5  HEAVY STORM
6  MYSTICAL SPACE TYPHOON
7  SPELL ABSORPTION
8  MONSTER REBORN
9  NOBLEMAN OF CROSSOUT
10 STUMBLING
11 MAGICAL DIMENSION
12 MAGICAL DIMENSION
13 PREMATURE BURIAL

Traps: [11]

5  MAGIC CYLINDER
6  GRAVITY BIND
7  MAGIC DRAIN
8  SHADOW SPELL
9  RECKLESS GREED
10 DUST TORNADO
11 STRIKE SLASH

I've been thinkg of putting a Pot of Avarice, a Cybernetic Magician,
Magical Exemplar and Crystal Seer, as long as I can find those cards
:P

Thanks in advace for the time you might spend for this :)

Spellcaster decks. Hmm. I can fix this. I fix my friend's often enough (who doesn't like my fixes and proceeds to lose to me every time after undoing my fixes), so I'm sure I can fix this. First, the cuts.

Cards that need to pull a Houdini:

- 2 Gemini Elf

- 1 Chaos Command Magician

- 1 Gravekeeper's Guard

- 1 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer

- 1 Jinzo

- 1 Mask of Darkness

- 1 Mage Power

- 1 Scapegoat

- 1 Spell Absorption

- 1 Stumbling

- 3 Sakuretsu Armor

- 1 Draining Shield

- 1 Magic Cylinder

- 1 Gravity Bind

- 1 Shadow Spell

- 1 Strike Slash

I cut out 19 cards. Hmm. Another large cut. Looks like I have some room to work with here. A lot of your monsters are either outclassed (Gemini Elf, Chaos Command Magician) or just don't belong here (the others). The Spells mostly interfered with what this deck aims to do, so I cut the ones that didn't help any. Sakuretsu Armor has a better alternative. Draining Shield and Magic Cylinder have purposes elsewhere. Gravity Bind is suited for a stall / Water deck. Shadow Spell is very outdated and Strike Slash is next to useless.

Now to add things in:

+ 2 Crystal Seer

+ 1 Dark Magician of Chaos

+ 2 Magical Exemplar

+ 1 Lightning Vortex

+ 2 Book of Moon

+ 2 Fires of Doomsday

+ 2 Enemy Controller

+ 2 Bottomless Trap Hole

+ 1 Magic Drain

+ 2 Reckless Greed

I added 17 cards, bringing you to 40. That's good. Crystal Seer as another Apprentice target and one of the best, being able to help you run through your deck. Dark Magician of Chaos because this is its home and the power is needed. Magical Exemplar to help you summon some of your Spellcasters. Lightning Vortex to help clear the field. Book of Moon to either make your opponent's monster easier to beat, stop an attack, or flip one of your monsters face-down (like Old Vindictive or Crystal Seer) to use their effects once more. Fires of Doomsday as a bit of protection as well as being Tribute bait for either of your Dark Magicians or Magical Dimension. Enemy Controller for more battle tricks. Bottomless Trap Hole to stop opposing threats. Magic Drain to stop harmful Spells (or make them more costly to play). Reckless Greed to supplement the one you have. If used, Reckless Greed should always be used in threes. Now, because of the Reckless Greed, feel free to add 2 Mask of Darkness back to your deck to help reuse the Reckless Greed so you only skip 2-3 Draw Phases and get multiple uses out of it within a turn or two.

Normally, I'd suggest Solemn Judgment or Dark Bribe in place of the Magic Drain, but from the looks of the cards in here, I'd say you don't have either of those cards at your disposal to use, but their options just in case you get your hands on them. Divine Wrath and Seven Tools of the Bandit are also options. Good luck with this.

That's all I have. Send everything to darkdestructionv30@yahoo.com for whatever.

Until next time....
